SOLD OUT! How to Catch Harambee Stars vs Gabon Live

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has announced that tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier match between Kenya and Gabon have been sold out. The match, set to kick off at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday, March 23, 2025, marks a significant event as it will be the Harambee Stars' first competitive home match since November 2021.

“All tickets for our FIFA World Cup qualifier against Gabon are officially sold out,” FKF said. This enthusiastic response highlights the excitement surrounding the return of Harambee Stars to home soil.

The match will kick off at 4 PM, with gates opening at 11 AM, allowing fans ample time to enter the stadium. FKF urges fans without tickets to watch the match on television, emphasizing that the match will be broadcast for free on KBC.

FKF CEO Harold Ndege spoke at a press conference at Nyayo National Stadium, assuring fans of stringent security measures in place for the event. He stated, “We will have a security buffer extending to within a radius of 300-500 metres from the stadium to ensure that only fans with a ticket access the venue.” This is in response to heightened concerns about security for such a high-profile event.

Of the 21,900 tickets made available for sale, 100 VVIP tickets were priced at Sh10,000, while 1,800 VIP tickets went for Sh1,000 each. The majority, comprised of 21,000 terrace tickets, were available to fans at a much lower price of Sh300.

Fans planning to drive to the stadium are advised to ensure they have parking tickets, as FKF has indicated that those without prior arrangements should consider alternate parking options nearby.

Addressing criticism regarding ticket prices, particularly for children, Ndege promised that future matches would feature pricing models that allow reduced fees for children in consideration of families.

The excitement surrounding this match is not solely due to the competitive nature of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Fans eagerly anticipate an engaging atmosphere, with FKF arranging performances including a live set from Savara, a member of the popular musical group, Sauti Sol. “We will also have acts and a DJ playing music,” Ndege added, hinting at a surprise performance during halftime to keep the spirits high.

Caroline Kariuki, Deputy Director for Sports at the State Department for Sports, echoed the commitment of the government to support the national team, stating, “The government is committed to supporting the growth and development of sports in the country.” She confirmed that preparations for this match have been robust, showcasing the collaborative efforts between government and sports federations.

The renovated Nyayo National Stadium, originally constructed in 1983, now boasts an all-seater arrangement, providing a more comfortable viewing experience for the anticipated crowd. Supporters are eager to see Harambee Stars in action, especially following their encouraging 3-3 comeback draw against Gambia during their last match on March 20, 2025, in Ivory Coast.

This coming match holds significant value for both teams. Kenya is currently in fourth place in Group F with six points, while Gabon is looking to maintain their lead after a convincing 3-0 victory over Seychelles in their previous encounter. With both teams fighting for qualification, the stakes couldn't be higher.

In their two meetings since 2023, Gabon holds the edge with one win and a draw, having scored four goals in contrast to Kenya's three. The fans' energy and support could prove pivotal in this high-pressure qualifier, creating a charged atmosphere at Nyayo Stadium. As the FKF stated on social media, “Let’s paint Nyayo red, black, and green this Sunday. Come cheer the team and let your voices be heard; your energy could make all the difference.”

In conclusion, this sold-out match illuminates not just the national pride but also the relentless support of Kenyan fans eager to witness their team back on home soil. With the stage set, enthusiasm is running high as they prepare to rally behind the Harambee Stars in pursuit of their World Cup dreams.
