Candace Lynn Clark Foder Smith, 53, of Hickory, N.C., passed away Friday, January 31, 2025, at her home. Born in Westminster, Calif., she was the daughter of the late William Howard Clark, Sr. and Donna Mae West. Candace touched the lives of many in Springdale, Ark. Her commitment to her work and those she served was exemplary, reflecting her strong work ethic and compassionate nature.
Beyond her professional achievements, Candace devoted many years of her life to volunteering with the Red Cross, embodying the spirit of altruism and selflessness. She was also known for her kindness and support as a caretaker and patient sitter, providing comfort and care to those in need. Her legacy of compassion and service will forever be remembered.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, John "L" Clark and Leroy Clark. Surviving are her sons, Timothy Foder and Seth Foder; grandchildren, Maddox and Ryder Foder; siblings, Bill Clark (Heidi), Danica Lynn Young (Don), Dennis Clark (Ann), Debra Lynn Hutchinson (Blain), and Richard Clark (Shannon); several nieces and nephews; and her special pet python of 24 years, Ka. Matthew Timothy Stiles, age 54, of Lynn, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Born November 10, 1970, in Revere, he was the loving son of the late David T. Stiles, Jr. and Paula G. (Slepoy) Stiles. A lifelong Lynn resident, Matt, known affectionately as "Tim" by his family, was well known and respected. He graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1988, and dedicated himself to his job as a taxi driver for Tom’s Taxi for 25 years. He will be remembered for the kindness he showed to his customers and friends.
He is survived by his brother David T. Stiles, III and his wife Shae, his nieces Ashley and Ava Stiles, and by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. A visitation for Matthew will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Lynn Frances Fackenthall Stimson Wells, 90, long time resident of Nine Mile Falls, WA, passed away on January 28, 2025. Lynn was born on July 3, 1934, in Spokane, WA, to Rollo Fackenthall and Elizabeth Carter. She attended Nine Mile School, graduated from North Central High School 1952, and attended Washington State College and St. Lukes Nursing Program.
Lynn's extensive career included employment at Crescent Department Store and Dr. J.S. Ainslie in Spokane, as well as roles as Credit Manager at Portland Frozen Foods and Schott Real Estate and Appraisal in Kinnelon, NJ. Her interest in history led her to become active with several historical organizations, including the Westerners, Spokane Corral, where she previously served as Sheriff. She was also involved with the Stevens County Historical Society, Deer Park and Clayton Historical Society, and many other community organizations.
Lynn is survived by her children, Diane (Dana) Ogle of Nine Mile Falls, WA, Linda (Wade) Springstead of Mt. Vernon, WA, Richard Stimson, and Naomi Scher of Nine Mile Falls, WA. She is also survived by her sisters, Ann Fackenthall and Christy Fackenthall; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Lynn was preceded in death by her parents; and by Randy Stimson and John Wells.
A celebration of life with reception to follow is scheduled on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Heritage Funeral & Cremation in Spokane, WA. Interment will be held in the spring at Wild Rose Cemetery in Deer Park, WA.
