The Town festival has officially unveiled its new Palco Quebrada, a vibrant addition to the 2025 lineup that aims to spotlight the artistic power of Brazil's peripheries. Announced during a press conference on April 15, 2025, at the Instituto Baccarelli in Heliópolis, São Paulo, the new stage will feature a diverse array of performances, reinforcing the festival's commitment to cultural representation.
The Palco Quebrada is set to host three performances daily, showcasing prominent artists such as Belo, MC Hariel, Criolo, Black Pantera, and Kayblack. Belo, who has been named the ambassador of this stage, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I classify this ambassador role as having a mission. This is very good; I love what I do, and art has always moved me in every sense. Art took me out of invisibility and poverty to become who I am today." This sentiment highlights the personal significance of the stage for artists from underrepresented communities.
During the festival, which will take place on September 6, 7, 12, 13, and 14, 2025, at the Autódromo de Interlagos, the Palco Quebrada will not only feature musical performances but will also host the 'Batalha da Aldeia Superliga The Town.' This competition will see 32 MCs from various regions of Brazil battling it out for the title, marking a historic integration of such a significant cultural event into a major festival.
According to Luis Justo, CEO of Rock World, the company behind The Town, the Palco Quebrada aims to amplify the voices of emerging talents from the communities, providing a platform where their art can flourish. "The stage is more than just a performance area; it is a territory of recognition and visibility for artists from the periphery," he remarked.
The festival's lineup includes an impressive roster of headliners, such as Green Day, Iggy Pop, Sex Pistols, Katy Perry, Camila Cabello, Mariah Carey, and Jessie J. The diverse programming reflects a wide range of musical styles, ensuring that attendees will have a rich cultural experience.
Ticket sales for The Town 2025 will begin on May 27, 2025, at 12 PM, with prices set at R$ 975 for full price and R$ 487.50 for half price. Prior to the general sale, a special pre-sale for Itaú clients and members of The Town Club will run from May 20 to May 26, 2025. The Town Card, which allows buyers to select their preferred festival date, is already sold out, illustrating the high demand for the event.
In addition to musical performances, festival-goers can enjoy various attractions, including a Ferris wheel, zipline, megadrop, and roller coaster, enhancing the overall festival experience. The accessibility measures for attendees with disabilities will begin during ticket registration, allowing customers to specify their needs. Upon registration, attendees will receive an identification bracelet for priority access to platforms, rides, and exclusive restrooms.
The Palco Quebrada is designed to be a living space, featuring a large white canvas that will be grafitted by artists from the periphery throughout the festival. This dynamic element will create a vibrant mosaic of urban art, reflecting the creativity and energy of São Paulo's street culture.
Among the artists scheduled to perform at Palco Quebrada are Tasha & Tracie, Punho de Mahin featuring MC Taya, Duquesa, and the Orquestra Sinfônica de Heliópolis. The programming will also include the unique performance "Mete Dança Quebrada!" which blends slam poetry, dance, and graffiti, showcasing the rich tapestry of street culture.
As the festival approaches, excitement continues to build. The Town aims to not only entertain but also inspire and transform perceptions of Brazil's cultural landscape. The inclusion of the Palco Quebrada signifies a commitment to diversity and representation, providing a platform for artists who often go unnoticed.
With the festival's first edition generating R$ 1.9 billion for the city and creating over 23,400 jobs, The Town is poised to make a significant impact once again. The festival's communication efforts reached 145 million people, sparking 2.21 million conversations on social media, demonstrating its far-reaching influence.
The Town 2025 is not just a music festival; it is a celebration of Brazil's cultural richness, aiming to connect people through music and art while highlighting the stories from the country's diverse communities. As the countdown to September begins, fans are encouraged to register in advance on the Ticketmaster platform to streamline their ticket purchasing process.
