Thais Wiggers, ex-model and influencer, recently opened up about her challenging relationship with comedian Teo Mammucari, the father of their 16-year-old daughter, Julia. During her appearance on the show 'Verissimo,' Wiggers expressed her frustration over the lack of communication between herself and Mammucari, emphasizing how their inability to dialogue has impacted their co-parenting.
The duo's relationship spanned from 2006 to 2009, and they welcomed Julia in 2008. Describing their bond, Wiggers reflected, "We had many ups and downs; we were two people with strong personalities; our love was genuine but turbulent." The couple's passionate connection, as she acknowledges, was marked by significant challenges, leading them to part ways for the sake of their daughter's well-being.
Despite no longer being together, Wiggers admitted, "I have not spoken to the father of my daughter, who is now 16 years old. It has been hard. I sent him some hints on social media after the Belve incident." This incident refers to Mammucari's sudden exit from the recent episode of 'Belve,' which garnered public attention and raised eyebrows about their past dynamics.
Following their breakup, Wiggers relocated to Milan to be closer to her friends and family, reflecting on the complications of being a young mother away from her home country—something she describes as incredibly difficult. She recalled the moment she decided to take Julia to Brazil to introduce her to her family, clarifying, "I went to Brazil with my daughter so she could learn Portuguese and connect with my roots. I didn't kidnap her; I had the father's permission to travel." Unfortunately, this three-year period led to strained relations, with Mammucari poignantly remarking on television about not seeing Julia during this time.
While Mammucari has publicly shared his perspective, admitting he struggled as a separated father unable to see his daughter due to their living arrangements, Wiggers firmly disagreed with his portrayal of her as the sole antagonist in their story. "I do not agree with his words because from them, you perceive distorted behaviors on my part. I've always been very zen because I know how things really are; my daughter knows too," she asserted.
Her recent comments bring back memories of the couple's fiery romance. They were described as two passionate individuals whose relationship lacked balance. At their best, Wiggers says they shared genuine love; at their worst, they became embroiled in turmoil, which eventually led to their breakup when Julia was just 18 months old.
Since the socially charged episode of 'Belve' aired, Thais has reiterated her stance on their inability to communicate effectively. "We cannot have dialogue if I'm standing before someone like this," she lamented, referring to Mammucari's turbulent behavior on camera. Her social media post emphasized this point: "Time tells all, eventually the mask falls away," which was perceived as a subtle criticism directed at her ex-partner.
Even with difficulties surrounding her past relationship, Thais is presently choosing to look forward. Currently, she is with someone who she describes as wonderful and supportive. "I haven't been very lucky in love, but I still believe I'm a romantic at heart. The person I am with now lifts me up and helps me grow," she shared, hinting at her desire to keep moving forward.
Reflecting on their strained co-parenting, Wiggers hopes for clearer communication between herself and Mammucari, acknowledging their history but focusing on the well-being of their daughter. "I wish we'd find common ground, for all our sakes, especially for Julia. It's not easy, but I remain hopeful," she concluded.
