Deputy Prime Minister Prasert Chanruangthong emphasized the importance of this program, stating, "We are currently in the stage of verifying the technical processes, and we expect to finalize the testing by the end of this week." Scheduled to kick off before Songkran 2025, the distribution's commencement hinges on the successful testing of the payment system, which is expected to be completed by March 31, 2025. If all goes according to plan, Chanruangthong noted, "If the system is operational, we aim to begin the transfer of funds before Songkran 2025." To be eligible for the 10,000 baht digital payout, recipients must be within the specified age group and possess a mobile banking account accredited by Thai banks. Additionally, they will need to register and verify their identities via the government's Super App. Chanruangthong explained, "The digital currency initiative not only supports the youth but is also a step towards our future economy," reflecting the broader ambition behind the program to foster digital financial literacy among the younger population.
Moreover, the scheme is expected to have a considerable budget allocation of 13 billion baht, with an estimated 9 billion baht anticipated to directly benefit the youth involved.
