Thailand Sees Record Winners At Booking.com Traveller Review Awards 2025

Over 14,000 Thai travel partners recognized for their exceptional service and hospitality as new destinations gain popularity.

Booking.com has announced the winners of the Traveller Review Awards for 2025, marking the 13th consecutive year of this hallmark recognition. The platform collected feedback from over 360 million real user reviews, leading to more than 1.71 million travel partners receiving the coveted awards worldwide. This year, Thailand alone saw 14,710 domestic travel partners rewarded, which is over a 20% increase from 2024.

The awards are indicative of the commitment to excellence and warm hospitality, with Thai accommodations averaging a remarkable score of 8.8 from travelers with around 3.2 million reviews globally. Notably, traditional tourism hubs continue to shine, but lesser-known destinations such as 'Nan' and 'Sukhothai' have also gained significant attention this year.

Key rankings for the best tourist-friendly cities include:

  • Krabi
  • Phang Nga
  • Nan
  • Surat Thani
  • Sukhothai

Hotels have remained the accommodation type favored by Thai travelers, even as apartments rank highest among award winners globally with 847,627 listings recognized as part of the awards. Hotels lead Thailand's awards, contributing to 3,833 selected properties.

Despite the international trend favoring apartments, they have moved up to second place within Thailand, showcasing 2,457 approved venues, followed by resorts (2,228), villas (1,624), and guest houses (1,150).

Rental services have added dimensions to travelers’ adventures. Booking.com highlighted the importance of transport providers, with 1,329 car rental companies and 124 airport taxi services recognized for their exceptional services. This marks an impressive 196% increase for car rental companies this year alone.

“Whether it’s sharing tips for selecting local eateries or surprising couples with champagne for anniversaries, our partners make every travel experience memorable,” said Michelle Gao, Regional Manager for the Mekong and China regions at Booking.com. She added, “The Traveller Review Awards signify gratitude not just from Booking.com but also on behalf of millions wishing to recognize travel partners for their commitment to excellent service.”

The awards serve as significant endorsements of both popular and hidden destinations within Thailand, promoting its appeal as one of the world’s leading travel destinations.

This year's awards reflect the shift toward not only recognizing traditionally popular locales but also appreciating the uniqueness of second-tier cities, demonstrating Booking.com’s dedication to highlighting every aspect of global travel. With the continued expansion and recognition of diverse accommodations and services, the awards aim to inspire even more travelers to explore the beauty and hospitality of Thailand.

Booking.com continues to play pivotal roles, connecting over 4.5 billion guests with more than 30 accommodation types. The vast variety includes everything from suburban vacation homes to trendy urban apartments, luxury villas, bed-and-breakfasts, farm stays, and even treehouses for adventurous travelers.

This broadened focus aligns with international travel trends, ensuring visitors to Thailand have unique and memorable stays. From ancient ruins to picturesque nature spots, the country's rich cultural heritage is now paired with modern hospitality standards. The future of travel appears bright as Thai cities garner recognition globally.
