Thailand Gears Up For AI Transformation By 2025

Experts highlight the pivotal role of AI in reshaping work and daily life across Thailand.

Thailand is on the brink of significant changes as advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) increasingly permeate daily life and the working world, especially as we look forward to 2025. The once-nascent technology has grown to be not merely convenient but integral, leading experts to predict transformative adjustments across various sectors.

According to Assistant Professor Dr. Chaiyaporn Khemabhatapan, the Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology at Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU), AI is now viewed as both trailblazer and risk-taker, sparking pivotal shifts. "AI is both an opportunity and challenge," Dr. Chaiyaporn said. He stresses the importance of adapting to this rapidly changing environment as it shapes the lives of individuals across all age groups.

Data insights reveal the extent of AI's integration as it stands: there has been a marked increase in users relying on AI applications like ChatGPT over traditional search engines. This shift is not just about convenience; it has opened avenues for people to work efficiently, leading to enhanced productivity. Dr. Chaiyaporn elaborates on how businesses are curbing redundant work through Generative AI, significantly enhancing operational efficiency, with the market value of companies utilizing such technologies projected to grow at approximately 46.47% annually from 2024 to 2030.

"The current environment showcases AI's capability to interpret complex data sets quickly, allowing for tasks like drafting documents, generating creative outputs, and even conducting research with impressive speed and accuracy," Dr. Chaiyaporn noted. Despite these advantages, he warned against potential pitfalls, stating, "Users may still encounter unexpected results or errors from AI due to its hallucination imperfections. Therefore, careful scrutiny of outputs generated by AI is necessary to mitigate risks."

Beyond just enhancing personal productivity, AI facilitates tasks traditionally carried out by humans—such as customer interaction through AI chatbots and automations for administrative work. This presents businesses with the ability to offer services around the clock and improve response times significantly. Companies are deploying AI agents to handle everything from customer queries to complex data management tasks.

Nonetheless, as organizations begin to integrate these AI solutions more deeply, they also face new security challenges. Protection of sensitive data becomes a growing concern, particularly when AI systems are provided with access to personal profiles and operational secrets for learning. Organizations will need to implement clear regulations around the use of AI and maintain transparency with data management.

Another facet of the impending AI boom involves the anticipated shift toward AI-assisted job roles. "For survival in the AI era, viewing AI as a tool for enhanced efficiency and capability is key," remarked Dr. Chaiyaporn. He emphasizes the necessity of investing not only in AI technology but also in employee development and training to keep pace with the rapidly advancing tools.

By 2025, many organizations anticipate reshaping their work cultures to accommodate the new reality where AI plays a central role. This includes refining their approach to recruitment, changing contract structures to prioritize mental health support, and improving transparency surrounding salary disclosures across job roles. Cultivated by young professionals who demands not just innovation but well-rounded, purpose-driven environments, organizations are already gearing up for these necessary evolutions.

The transformation will inevitably redefine workplaces, moving toward models where efficiency meets human ingenuity. The challenge remains how companies balance AI's capabilities with the irreplaceable emotional intelligence of human workers.

So as we move forward, the onus is on organizations to adapt swiftly and embrace AI as just another tool to help human capability shine, rather than viewing it solely as competition. To succeed, businesses must navigate the fine line between utilizing AI to streamline operations and nurturing the human element fundamental to their success.

The role of AI will continue to expand, so keeping pace with these developments and training employees will be imperative for any organization wishing to maintain relevancy and thrive within this new era. To embrace the forthcoming AI advancements and shape them for mutual benefit will be the defining element for many organizations as they forge their paths toward 2025 and beyond.
