Arnap Siritikul, director of Google Cloud Thailand, highlights the shift to 'AI-first' approaches among leading media outlets. This strategic transition allows companies to leverage AI capabilities fully, integrating technology seamlessly with their operations. Siritikul noted, "This year, prominent media outlets and entertainment companies are beginning to shift to 'AI-first' approaches rather than 'AI-after'." This strategy aims to utilize AI not just as an add-on but as the driving force behind innovation and operational efficiency.

Three key trends are currently shaping the future of the media through AI technology:

Firstly, multimodal AI is revolutionizing user interaction with media. By integrating various data formats such as text, audio, images, and video, multimodal AI creates enriched experiences. This enhances the way both professional content creators and general users engage with media, providing tools for creativity and personalization. Siritikul emphasized the potential of these technologies, stating, "Generative AI is set to transform media consumption from passive to interactive experiences."

For example, Fox Sports is utilizing generative AI to analyze extensive footage collections, enabling automatic categorization of various moments within videos. Other notable instances include Warner Brothers Discovery, which uses AI to improve content accessibility through automated subtitling, significantly reducing creation time.

Further examples can be seen at AsiaOne—where AI has transformed article analysis processes, enhancing advertising engagement, or Spotify and Paramount+, which are applying generative AI to optimize content metadata and personalize recommendations for users.
