Telangana CM A. Revanth Reddy Secures Rs 1.78 Lakh Crore Investments

At the World Economic Forum 2025, Telangana pursues ambitious economic goals and sustainability initiatives.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy made headlines during his recent trip to the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 held in Davos, Switzerland, garnering investment pledges worth Rs 1.78 lakh crore. This impressive figure signifies not just financial commitments, but also the potential creation of approximately 49,550 jobs, highlighting the optimistic outlook for the state's economy.

The delegation, spearheaded by CM Reddy, focused on strengthening Telangana's portfolio, which already thrives on its software and pharmaceutical sectors. During the event, major software companies, including Infosys, Wipro, and HCL, collectively pledged to establish 27,000 job opportunities based out of Hyderabad, illustrating the state's appeal as a tech hub.

Investments also flowed from giants like Amazon and other firms who announced expansions and new facilities within Telangana. These developments include data centers and ventures related to cutting-edge manufacturing, ranging from solar panel production to aerospace components and unmanned aerial vehicle technology, backed significantly by the Jindal Group's commitment to defense manufacturing.

Another noteworthy commitment came from the FMCG leader Unilever, which promised to set up two new manufacturing units within the state. The CM, accompanied by IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, met with various industrialists and policymakers to discuss possible collaborations and the state's future development plans.

Addressing the assembled stakeholders, Reddy shared his visionary plan for "Telangana Rising 2050," aiming for the state’s GDP to hit $1 trillion. He described Hyderabad's potential to challenge global cities like New York, Dubai, and Singapore, alluding to the city's highest per capita income among major Indian states.

“Building on core strengths of Hyderabad and Telangana in software and pharma, Telangana will now look to grow in a very big way. After COVID, the world urgently needs to alter its supply chain by supplementing alternatives to China, and Telangana is eager to take on this challenge,” stated Reddy, underscoring the proactive approach his administration aims to adopt.

His remarks reflect the larger theme of reshaping global supply chains and highlighting Telangana's unique position to attract investments. The recent commitment was all part of Telangana's broader strategy to solidify its standing as a competitive player within the global economy, particularly post-pandemic.

Notably, the delegation also engaged with counterparts from Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, including Chandrababu Naidu and Devendra Fadnavis, discussing various themes relevant to India's growth including sustainability, innovation, technology, and job creation.

Reddy emphasized the importance of sustainability during his discussions at the WEF, with Telangana taking the Davos oath to actively partake in planting one trillion trees globally. This environmental initiative underlines the state's commitment to sustainable development alongside economic growth.

The Chief Minister elaborated, "For the global and investor fora, the message is simple - Telangana Means Business." His assertion reflects the determination of his administration to provide not just jobs, but also improved welfare for the people of Telangana through economic growth and business opportunities.

The trip to the WEF was preceded by the delegation's visit to Singapore, where Reddy exchanged insights with dignitaries, recognizing the competitive edge such international partnerships could offer.

Overall, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's advocacy for Telangana's economic advancement at Davos establishes the state as not only eager for investment but also ready to embrace innovative, sustainable practices alongside traditional sectors. With plans well underway to diversify its industrial base, the future looks promising for Telangana, driving the message home: the state is not just watching but actively participating on the global stage.
