A woman has been charged after allegedly injuring a woman and a man in a violent incident that unfolded at a bus stop outside the Eastgardens Westfield shopping center in Maroubra, Sydney, on March 22, 2025.
According to police reports, the trouble began shortly before midday when emergency services responded to reports of a stabbing incident. A confrontation erupted between two women on a bus traveling along Anzac Parade in Maroubra. During the altercation, a 41-year-old woman allegedly stabbed a 21-year-old woman with a pen as the bus reached its destination outside the bustling shopping center.
As chaos ensued, a 34-year-old male passenger intervened in an attempt to break up the fight but was also allegedly stabbed with the same pen by the older woman. The quick response of law enforcement led to the arrest of the 41-year-old at the scene. She was then taken to Maroubra police station, where she commenced assisting police with their inquiries.
The woman has since been charged with two counts of wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Following her arrest, she was refused bail and is set to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Sunday, March 23, 2025.
Despite the severity of the situation, authorities confirmed that both victims are currently receiving treatment for minor head injuries and remain in stable condition. The male victim sought treatment from a local general practitioner, while the female victim was transported to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for further care.
