Meanwhile, the Christmas market at Högbo bruk was once again a mainstay for the holiday season, making it clear why it has become such an annual tradition. Even as cars lined up to park, the expansive area allowed for ample room for visitors to explore. With around one hundred exhibitors surrounding the picturesque lake, there was no shortage of local crafts and holiday fare. Children eagerly approached Santa to share their Christmas wishes. “It's lovely to witness so many locals and visitors enjoying the festive spirit here,” noted one of the market's organizers, Markus Johansson.
Notably, Axeltorp, known for its unique approach, hosted its second annual Christmas market at its dementia care center. The initiative began last year and was so well-received by both residents and the local community, it prompted staff and occupants to organize another event. Lisbet Selin, one of the residents, expressed her delight, saying, "We put so much effort and love to make this market special. It’s not just about Christmas; it’s about community and joy." The market featured handmade crafts made by the residents themselves, showcasing their talents and engaging with visitors.
Further highlighting the seasonal ambiance, Benestad, located just outside Alvesta, transformed its yard with inflatable Santas and giant Christmas baubles. Another classic event, the Christmas market at Murberget in Härnösand, opened its doors at 11 AM, drawing crowds almost immediately. Known for its charm and variety of vendors, Murberget's market is often described as the ideal spot to breathe in the true essence of Christmas. Recent attendee Greta Andersson remarked, "After visiting this market, I finally feel like the holiday season is here! The decorations, the lights – everything is so beautiful!"
