Excitement is building as the highly anticipated STPR Family Festival is set to take place at two major venues in Japan this April. The festival, featuring a lineup of popular 2.5D idol groups such as Sutopuri, Knight A, and AMPTAKxCOLORS, will kick off with two days at the Tokyo Dome on April 2 and 3, followed by a three-day event at Belluna Dome from April 4 to 6.
The STPR Family Festival promises not just music, but a unique blend of entertainment, including a gaming event dubbed “SUPER GAMERS SHOWDOWN” scheduled for the fourth day of the festival, where performers will compete live on stage in various video games, a first of its kind.
This past March 16, fans got a taste of what’s to come, as the “STPR Cup” was held on the official Sutopuri YouTube channel. This pre-event featured a thrilling Splatoon 3 competition, in which performers were split into five teams and participated in a tournament format.
In the finals, Sutopuri’s Daisei Brothers—a group of four, which included member Gel—triumphed over AMPTAKxCOLORS' Popiwan Samurai, also a four-member team. The excitement of the match was palpable, and team leaders expressed their joy after the event. “Being able to work with the best members on such a project was fun, and I’m thrilled we could practice and win,” said AMPTAKxCOLORS' leader, Akkii. Gel added, “I’m not great at games, but I secretly practiced for two weeks not to hold anyone back, and I managed to achieve results.”
