Summer Vacation Dates Announced For Students In 2025

The Secretaría de Educación Pública outlines key dates for summer break and report card deliveries.

As the school year progresses, students and educators in Mexico are eagerly anticipating the summer vacation dates for 2025, as outlined by the Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP). According to the official calendar for the 2024-2025 academic year, the summer break will commence on July 16, 2025, following the delivery of report cards from July 14 to July 15.

The last day of classes for students in preschool, primary, and secondary education is set for Thursday, July 10, 2025. This day marks the conclusion of the academic year, allowing students a brief pause before the summer break officially begins. Teachers, however, will be required to attend an Intensive Workshop for Teaching Staff on July 17 and 18, ensuring they are prepared for the upcoming school year.

In addition to the summer vacation dates, the SEP has also highlighted several important days off in May 2025. These include May 1 for International Workers' Day, May 5 for the commemoration of the Battle of Puebla, May 15 for Teacher's Day, and May 30 for a school board meeting. The last Junta del Consejo Técnico before the summer break will occur on June 27, 2025, during which educators will discuss pedagogical advancements.

Parents and guardians will have the opportunity to access their children's report cards online, which will be available for consultation between July 14 and July 16. To do so, they will need the student's CURP and the school's Clave del Centro de Trabajo (CCT). The SEP has made this process straightforward, allowing families to stay informed about their children's academic performance.

As the summer vacation approaches, families are encouraged to start planning their trips, whether it's a visit to a nearby beach or an adventure to a magical town. With the summer break running through August, there are ample opportunities for relaxation and exploration.

The SEP's calendar not only outlines vacation periods but also includes various days when classes will be suspended due to official holidays and technical school meetings. For instance, the official labor calendar for 2025, as established by the Ley Federal del Trabajo (LFT), includes holidays such as New Year's Day on January 1, Constitution Day on February 3, and Independence Day on September 16.

These holidays offer workers and students alike the chance to plan their activities and rest throughout the year. Notably, several of these holidays will be observed with a long weekend, as they are moved to the nearest Monday. This scheduling allows for extended breaks that can be utilized for family gatherings or travel.

The 2025 school calendar also features winter vacations from December 23, 2024, to January 8, 2025, with classes resuming on January 9. This extended break provides students with a chance to recharge before the new academic year begins.

In summary, the summer vacation for 2025 is set to begin on July 16, with students having their last day of classes on July 10. As families start to plan their summer getaways, they can also take note of the various holidays and breaks throughout the year, ensuring a well-rounded and fulfilling academic experience for their children.

As the school year draws to a close, it’s essential for both students and teachers to remain engaged and focused. The upcoming workshops for educators will not only prepare them for the next academic cycle but also enhance the learning environment for students.

With the right planning, families can maximize their time off and create lasting memories during the summer vacation. Whether it's a trip to the beach, a cultural excursion, or simply enjoying time at home, the summer of 2025 promises to be an exciting time for students and their families.
