Known for her deep commitment to preventing suicides among children and adolescents, Kurek's untimely passing has led to heartfelt tributes from colleagues and friends. The Pomorska Police announced her death via social media, expressing their sorrow: "Pogrążona w smutku rodzina zawiadamia, że 18 lutego 2025 roku w wieku 44 lat odeszła nasza ukochana żona, córka, siostra szwagierka, ciocia oraz przyjaciółka śp. Beata Kurek." This somber news left many mourning the loss of Kurek, who had made significant strides in mental health advocacy.

Kurek began her police career at the Police Headquarters in Kartuzy before ascending to her role as deputy chief of the Gdańsk prevention department.
