Stormy Returns For Cassandre And Roche Fans

The tension builds as new episode of Cassandre explores relationship dynamics amid murder investigation.

A long-awaited return has fans excited as France 3 broadcasts a new episode of the popular series Cassandre on Saturday, February 22. Titled "Dans la tempête," the episode features the beloved characters, Commissioner Florence Cassandre and Captain Pascal Roche, played by Gwendoline Hamon and Alexandre Varga, respectively, battling against both nature and criminal intrigue.

Set against the backdrop of a violent storm, Cassandre and Roche seek refuge in a hotel where wedding celebrations take place. A festive occasion, unfortunately, takes a dark turn when the hotel director is found murdered, which leads to all individuals present being instructed not to leave the premises.

This dramatic development initiates the investigation by Cassandre and Roche, who begin to unravel clues before themselves being called for questioning by their colleagues Jean-Paul Marchand and Nicky Maleva. Tension builds as they attempt to piece together the evening's events along with their own involved actions.

Gwendoline Hamon, speaking to Télé-Loisirs, reflects on the dynamics of her character's relationship with Roche, emphasizing the importance of maintaining viewer engagement through the ups and downs of their long-running, on-screen chemistry. "C'est toujours très fragile parce qu'on sait que cette idylle qui n'en finit pas d'en finir est importante pour les téléspectateurs," she explains, noting the delicate balance of not wanting to mock the audience's anticipation whilst keeping them entertained.

Hamon insists the will-they-won't-they aspect of Cassandre and Roche's romance remains captivating, stating, "Ah ça... Ça arrivera certainement un jour. Pour les téléspectateurs comme pour nous, ce sera l'aboutissement de cette relation." This quote hints at future developments for the couple, though Hamon also acknowledges the challenge of continuing their story without it feeling stale.

The actress also lightens the seemingly serious discussion around their relationship, remarking, "Non parce qu’on ne va pas pouvoir les faire vivre pendant 90 ans. Mais ce n’est pas moi qui arrêterai Cassandre !" Her comments underline not only her commitment to the character but also to the longevity of the show. With episodes continuing to air every few months, Hamon expresses her enthusiasm as she participates in upcoming episodes slated for the new season.

On the subject of the comedic elements woven throughout the show, she shares, "J'adore ces scènes où Cassandre est ridicule." This self-deprecatory sense of humor showcases the character's more relatable side and emphasizes the fun atmosphere on set. Hamon's co-stars contribute to this lightheartedness, particularly through scenes with prosecutor Chappaz, where her off-screen camaraderie translates well to audiences.

Fans can look forward to more enticing storylines as Gwendoline not only continues her work on Cassandre but is also set to appear soon in other projects. "En mars, on va tourner deux épisodes de Cassandre et un troisième en septembre," she reveals, alongside future theater engagements.

With new episodes and developments brewing, this latest installment of Cassandre promises to keep viewers mostly satisfied as they wait to see what lies next for the stormy partnership of Cassandre and Roche. Tune in at 21h10 on France 3 this Saturday!
