Steffi Graf Joins Instagram As Jaden Agassi Debuts For Germany

The tennis legend shares family updates online as her son starts his career with the national baseball team.

Steffi Graf, the iconic tennis legend, has recently stepped back onto the public stage by joining Instagram. Interestingly, Graf had created her account, under the handle "stefaniegrafhq," back in January 2024, but it was only verified this March. Since her official debut on social media, which was just over a week ago, Graf has published three posts, showcasing her family and upcoming events, marking her first foray back onto the digital scene following her retirement.

The inaugural post features Graf alongside her husband, fellow tennis star Andre Agassi, and reads, “Welcome to your best source for everything about Steffi Graf! Updates, events, and exclusive posts from the Graf team will follow shortly.” This simple greeting sets the stage for what is expected to be regular content updates about her life, including family events and noteworthy happenings.

Her subsequent posts included information on an upcoming Pickleball tournament scheduled to take place in Vietnam and China, where the dynamic duo of Agassi and Graf will showcase their skills. The third post served as more of a personal touch, filled with images of Graf on the tennis court, paired with the heartfelt caption: “All the different feelings when coming back on the court.” This openness is reminiscent of Graf’s competitive spirit and her genuine connection with fans.

Within just one week, Graf has attracted over 21,500 followers, which is considerable, albeit modest compared to her husband’s 857,000 followers. For comparison, the current world number one tennis player Aryna Sabalenka boasts around 2.6 million followers, showcasing the different scales of fame between sports personalities. Of interest is the small number of 34 accounts Graf follows, which primarily includes family members like her children—Jaden and Jaz—and several notable figures from the world of tennis.

Speaking of her children, Jaden Agassi made headlines of his own by debuting for the German baseball national team on March 4, 2025. At the age of 23, Jaden stands at 1.91 meters tall—quite noticeably taller than both his celebrated parents, with Andre standing at 1.80 meters and Steffi at 1.75 meters.

Jaden, who chose to pursue baseball rather than follow strictly in his parents' tennis footsteps, performed during the World Baseball Classic 2026 qualifier. Representing Germany, he took to the mound as the team faced tougher opponents. Unfortunately, Germany lost both matches during the qualifiers, with Jaden allowing four runs against Brazil and two runs against Colombia, leading to Germany’s failure to qualify for the World Baseball Classic.

Reflecting on his dream of playing professionally, Jaden shared, “It was always my dream since I was a little boy to play internationally. I want to make my mother and Germany proud.” It was clear he values the support of his parents immensely, especially during this pivotal moment of his young career.

Andre Agassi, always present for his son, highlighted the importance of keeping sports separate from personal identity. “Jaden loves baseball,” Andre said, “I advise him to keep sports as something he does – not who he is.” His philosophy resonates with the challenges and pressures athletes face today, especially those coming from prominent sporting families. Jaden’s path has not been without its hurdles; he underwent elbow surgery back in 2019 which sidelined his ambitions for a year.

Despite these obstacles, Jaden displayed excellent potential during his time playing for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in the MLB Draft League, where he recorded impressive stats, including a run average of 2.96. His dedication mirrors the work ethic of both of his parents, who, combined, hold 30 Grand Slam titles, representing both the pinnacle of achievement and high expectations.

While Jaden paves his way to possibly securing a professional contract, sister Jaz, who is 21 years old, has taken to fitness training and studies at the University of Nevada, keeping the energies of the family dynamic alive. Unlike her brother, she enjoys more casual engagements with tennis, often only picking up the racquet for fun.

There were memories shared by Andre concerning past family trips. For example, the couple had traveled with young Jaden to the 2002 Australian Open, where unfortunately, Andre had to withdraw due to injury. During this trip, Steffi reflected on how well-behaved Jaden was on the flights, noting, “He was absolutely angel on all the flights.” On the other hand, juggling two kids proved more challenging when they brought both Jaden and Jaz to the Australian Open in 2004. Andre remarked during press conferences: “I don’t see [Steffi] for hours... We have to tough out the next year and a half.” His sentiments echo the realities of balancing parenthood with the demands of professional sports.

By blending family obligations with personal aspirations, the Graf-Agassi family continues to showcase resilience through their respective journeys, with Steffi Graf embracing social media and Jaden Agassi carving out his niche in baseball. This familial blend of historical tennis legacy coupled with new aspirations marks the onset of novel chapters for their children as they embrace the world of sports.
