Starbucks Coffee Japan has announced the upcoming launch of its second collaboration collection with the renowned Japanese bag brand Porter. Following the success of their first collection released back in June 2023, this new line aims to inspire customers to carry their own reusable bottles more conveniently, emphasizing the sustainable initiatives both brands cherish.
Starting January 16, 2025, customers can enter the pre-sale lottery for the collection through the official Starbucks online store, with regular sales commencing on February 5, 2025. The collaboration features 15 distinct items, comprising five types of bags and eight variations of stainless steel bottles. Notably, this collection incorporates Starbucks' iconic Double Tall Latte theme, evident not only through its delightful color scheme but also design elements.
“This collaboration echoes our sustainable intentions, wanting customers to naturally carry their own bottles with our products,” said Takafumi Mizuguchi, CEO of Starbucks Coffee Japan. The partnership is framed within the brand's goal to reduce waste and promote resource sustainability, reinforced by Porter's longstanding commitment to quality and functionality.
The new collection includes innovative designs such as the Porter Coffee Bean Shape 2-Way Tool Bag, priced at ¥55,000 and offered in both black and Latte Beige colors. This bag is fashioned with functionality at its core, featuring drawstring closures and two hidden pockets for bottle storage without compromising on style or silhouette.
Similarly, the Porter Coffee Bean Shape Helmet Bag, also at ¥63,000, promises not just aesthetic allure but ample storage, integrating thoughtfully planned hidden pockets where bottle storage needs meet usability requirements. A standout feature of the collection is the custom coffee bean-shaped pouch, appealing to both practicality and Starbucks’ unique branding.
Customers seeking additional exclusivity can look forward to items exclusive to the Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo, which will include specially crafted designs reflecting the roastery’s interior ambiance. Following the rest of the collection, these limited pieces embody the essence of what Porter and Starbucks represent: quality craftsmanship blended with everyday lifestyle needs.
The commitment to sustainability remains central to this collaboration. By encouraging customers to integrate reusable bottles and bags seamlessly within their daily routines, both brands hope to raise awareness on reducing single-use items, fostering not just eco-conscious behaviors but also enhancing overall customer experience.
Pricing for the bottles, each featuring design elements reflecting the Starbucks ethos, ranges from ¥5,000 to ¥6,000, depending on size and color. The bottles come with double-wall construction ensuring superior temperature retention, suitable for varying beverage needs.
The collection will also feature Starbucks gift cards styled with the iconic Porter visuals. Customers can select between physical gift cards featuring the adorable “Porter-kun” character dressed as a barista and digital gift cards ranging from ¥1,000 to ¥30,000, making for suitable gifts as well.
Pre-sales will be available until January 20, 2025, allowing enthusiasts to secure their pieces early. With the official online shop set to open at 6 AM on the day of the regular sale, fans are encouraged to keep close tabs for availability as stocks may run out swiftly.
Both Starbucks and Porter recognize the importance of effective product design and functionality. The collaboration not only highlights their individual strengths but speaks to the shared values held by customers eager for conscious consumer choices. With every item from this venture, shoppers can experience the blend of lifestyle practicality with the luxury of high-quality materials and thoughtful design.
