Spring is around the corner, and with it, fresh fashion trends are set to blossom for 2025. From soft pastel tones to elegant materials, the upcoming season promises to bring both style and comfort. Leading the charge on this year’s trends is Ella Soccorsi, Head of Design and Creative at Arket, who gives insight on what to expect.
This year, color is at the forefront with pastels like soft pink and orange illuminating collections. These hues radiate elegance and work harmoniously with other colors, reminiscent of neutral tones. According to Soccorsi, these soft shades pair beautifully with baggy jeans or can also be incorporated as lovely linen pants. Complementary colors such as light blue, mint green, pastel yellow, and even silver will also grace spring wardrobes. Soccorsi describes the 2025 trend as embodying “Quiet Luxury,” focusing on understated elegance for both men and women.
"Schöne sandfarbene Neutrals, das klassische Blau frischer Baumwollhemden, Grüntöne - alle Schattierungen von Khaki bis Matcha und Grasgrün - und Rot. Außerdem Weiß und Schwarz, vorzugsweise zusammen gestylt, ein weißer Blazer mit schwarzer Hose oder umgekehrt zum Beispiel," Soccorsi emphasizes the importance of incorporating various colors to stay trendy.
Pattern-wise, the trending motif for 2025 will nod toward the more classic aspects of fashion with the incorporation of leopard prints. This print, when integrated carefully, can serve as tasteful accents instead of overpowering entire outfits. Soccorsi notes, “It should elegantly fit, perhaps on blouses or as subtle enhancements on accessories like bags or shoes.” Men can utilize this print effectively on hoodies or sweaters as well.
On the material front, spring 2025 trends embrace fabrics like transparent panels and (artificial) leather, denim, and linen. These materials are expected to lend sophistication to wardrobes again, providing the perfect blend of delicate and durable attire. The cut of garments is shifting as well, with looser fits gaining popularity for both genders. Fashion enthusiasts are encouraged to embrace wide cuts, whether they are sporting jeans, trousers, jackets, or tops.
Shoes are another staple accessory for the season, and predictions suggest the continued popularity of sneakers but with added flair. Styles are expected to vary from classic loafers to fashionable boots, often featuring playful colors to uplift subtler outfits. “A handbag with shades like chocolate brown or vibrant accent colors paired with comfortable flat shoes, such as ballerinas or loafers, can transform any outfit,” Soccorsi suggests, hinting at the versatility of accessories this season.
Moving to the essentials for men and women alike, Soccorsi stresses the importance of keeping practical yet stylish pieces close at hand. For women, key items include light spring coats, loafers or moccasins, knitted polo shirts, Bermuda shorts, Mary-Janes, and high-quality leather goods. On the other hand, men should stock their wardrobes with light coats (like Car Coats), chinos, knitted polo shirts, thin V-neck sweaters, and loafers.
The overarching theme for fashion enthusiasts this season encourages personalization and authenticity through style choices. Soccorsi concludes, “The biggest trend for us at Arket is the emergence of essentials. The clothing pieces I identified as ‘It-Pieces’ are simple basic archetypes, yet they are incredibly trendy, which is fantastic as they have the potential to last for quite some time.”
Fashion is as much about expressing individuality as it is about following trends. So, whether choosing to embrace the returning favorites or opting for something fresh, readers are reminded to curate their own distinctive looks this upcoming spring season. Staying true to personal style ensures greater comfort and confidence, marking the success of every spring ensemble.
