The Spanish Volleyball Cup 2024 is set to gather remarkable energy as teams from all over the country don their jerseys to compete for glory. The event is held at three venues: Guadalajara, Valladolid, and Almería, and will run until December 30.
The Club Unificado Voleibol Alcorcón is sending eight teams to this prestigious competition. Three of their youth teams will be competing in Guadalajara, prepared to face rivals from across Spain. Meanwhile, five other teams, consisting of two cadet teams, two youth teams, and one junior team, will be competing in Valladolid.
This tournament has become one of the most anticipated events of the year, not only because of the high-quality matches but also due to the camaraderie and passion for volleyball shared among players and fans alike. A representative of CUV Alcorcón remarked, “This Copa de España provides federated teams the opportunity to demonstrate their caliber and improve for the regional competition, but it also allows them to enjoy a unique experience.”
Similarly, Club Voleibol Gandia is also fielding several teams at both venues. The cadet teams will compete in Almería, whilst the younger categories will represent the club at Guadalajara. The club expressed pride in their athletes, recognizing the dedication and teamwork involved to reach this level of competition.
For the female Alevín team, the squad includes Angelina Cabrera, Daniela Vega, Martín Cirizola, Alexandra Boscá, and Lucía Bueso, coached by Iván Coll. The male Alevín team consists of Oriol Ibáñez, Biel Martín, Dídac Caudeli, Albir Bañuls, and Martín Ferrer, directed by their coach, Laura Moreno. The male Infantil team features players like Jairo Álvarez, Miguel Altur, and Jorge Vitoria, under the guidance of their coach, Paco Ibáñez.
The cadete categories are equally impressive, with the female team composed of Martina Sayas, Lucia Artes, and Sofía Valdez, directed by Santiago Escanés and Cintia García. For the male cadete team, Esteban Martínez coaches the squad including Adrián Escura, Ángel Ribes, and Adrián Vitoria.
