These recent earthquakes are part of an alarming trend. According to CBS News, 2024 has already been marked as the most seismically active year for California since 1988.
Dr. Lucy Jones from the California Institute of Technology warned about the risks associated with two significant fault lines running underneath densely populated areas. "These are considered the faults capable of producing the most damage of any earthquake in SoCal," she explained.
