Sophie Codegoni is living a nightmare. The 23-year-old influencer, known for her participation in the reality show Grande Fratello Vip, has shared her harrowing experience after reporting her ex-partner, Alessandro Basciano, for aggravated stalking. The relationship, which began in 2021, spiraled into a series of emotional and psychological abuses, culminating in Codegoni's decision to seek legal protection.
In an interview with Corriere della Sera on May 6, 2025, Codegoni expressed her anguish, stating, "I often think: why did I report him? It's really tough. I know I did the right thing, but I'm living a nightmare." Her words reflect the emotional turmoil she has faced since taking a stand against her former partner, who is currently under investigation for serious allegations, including threats of violence.
Codegoni and Basciano met during their time on Grande Fratello Vip, where they quickly fell in love. After the show, they moved in together in Rome, where Codegoni claimed Basciano had total control over her life. "I was living in a bubble, without my friends," she recalled. Their daughter, Celine Blue, was born in May 2023, but the relationship soon deteriorated as Codegoni uncovered Basciano's infidelities.
In September 2024, after returning to her family in Milan, Codegoni ended their relationship. However, Basciano allegedly refused to accept the separation, leading to a series of stalking incidents. "Wherever I went, he knew and sent me photos of where I was. He would write: 'bitch... I'll take the child away from you,'" she recounted, detailing the fear that gripped her daily life.
In December 2023, feeling threatened and isolated, Codegoni filed a complaint against Basciano. Despite the legal action, she struggled with feelings of guilt and remorse for separating from him. "I was very ill. He convinced me that he would change, and we got back together. I tried to put our family back together," she admitted. However, it soon became clear that the relationship was toxic, and the emotional abuse continued.
During their time together, Codegoni described numerous instances of psychological manipulation. Basciano would demand her undivided attention, even while she was caring for their daughter, threatening to create chaos if she didn’t respond immediately. "He would say, 'I must be your priority, whatever you're doing, if I call you, you must drop everything,'" she explained.
The situation escalated in November 2024, when Basciano allegedly attacked Codegoni's friends and threatened her life. "He called me and said: 'I just beat up your friend, now I'm coming to kill you too.' I reached my limit. I lost 10 kilos and decided to put an end to it," she said, highlighting the toll the relationship had taken on her mental and physical health.
Following her report, Basciano was arrested but released after 48 hours. The legal proceedings continued, and on April 30, 2025, the Court of Cassation imposed precautionary measures against him. Basciano is now required to wear an electronic bracelet and is prohibited from approaching Codegoni or their daughter within 500 meters.
Simultaneously, Codegoni has been equipped with a watch provided by the Carabinieri, which allows law enforcement to track her location and respond quickly if she presses a button for help. "I feel more protected with this. Before it arrived, I had hired a bodyguard, but I couldn't afford it anymore. It has been a tough few months; I was very scared," she stated.
Despite these measures, Codegoni still feels overwhelmed by the emotional scars left by her relationship with Basciano. "I am empty; I cry all the time. I have so much hate directed at me," she said, revealing the ongoing impact of her ordeal. She has faced backlash on social media, including comments from other women trivializing her experience. "Some women message me, saying, 'What’s the big deal about a little jealousy?'" she lamented.
As she navigates this challenging chapter of her life, Codegoni emphasizes that her actions are not intended to destroy Basciano but to protect herself and her daughter. "I’m not happy with how things have turned out or knowing that the father of my child has to wear a bracelet," she said. Yet, she remains resolute, asserting, "I know I did the right thing, but it's been incredibly tough. The institutions understand these situations, but the response time is long. Emergency measures only seem to kick in when there's physical violence involved. What people don't realize is that if a woman doesn't leave, it's often because she's not in a clear state of mind. These men make you feel like everything is your fault, and they never change."
As the investigation continues and the legal proceedings unfold, Codegoni hopes for a resolution that allows her to reclaim her life and protect her daughter from further harm. Her story serves as a stark reminder of the complexities and challenges faced by victims of domestic abuse, and the importance of support and understanding from society.
