Moscow's Mayor Sergey Sobyanin recently unveiled ambitious plans for the city's comprehensive development during a government presidium meeting. This initiative aims to transform several districts of the capital starting with Tsaritsyno.
According to Sobyanin, the revitalization will replace outdated warehouses at the Kotlyakovo industrial zone with modern residential facilities. "Утвердили проект планировки территории в районе Царицыно. На месте устаревших складов промзоны 'Котляково' появится современный жилой квартал для программы реновации, школа на тысячу учеников, детский сад для 250 малышей и спорткомплекс с бассейном" (English translation: "We approved the planning project for the Tsaritsyno area. A modern residential quarter will be built where the outdated Kotlyakovo warehouses currently stand. It will include a school for 1,000 students, a kindergarten for 250 children, and a sports complex with swimming pool."), said Sobyanin on his Telegram channel.
These plans represent more than just new infrastructure; they are part of broader efforts to regenerate urban spaces and create vibrant communities throughout Moscow. The Tsaritsyno project also aligns with the city’s renovation programs.
Beyond Tsaritsyno, significant development is planned for the Dorohoimovo area, primarily near the Kutuzovskaya railway station. Here, public and business facilities will take root at the crossroads of Kutuzovsky Avenue and Third Transport Ring. This new construction is projected to generate approximately 1,900 new jobs for local residents. Sobyanin remarked, “Город получит 1,9 тыс. новых рабочих мест" (English translation: "The city will gain 1,900 new jobs").
To support these ambitious projects, the Moscow government will also oversee the development of the Khoroshevo-Mnevniki district. A multifunctional sports-training complex will be established, enhancing community engagement and athletic pursuits. This complex is part of Sobyanin's vision to stimulate job creation through public-private partnerships, encouraging investors to contribute significantly.
The move toward comprehensive development signifies Moscow's commitment to modernizing its urban areas with sustainable living environments.
