Sila Sahin is experiencing a remarkable moment as she embarks on two significant journeys simultaneously: landing a role on the beloved German TV series "Traumschiff" and launching her third shoe collection, "Palado by Sila Sahin." The 39-year-old actress, known for her dynamic roles and charming presence, relished the opportunity to discuss both her new role and her latest fashion endeavor.
"I love shoes, and I inherited this passion from my father," Sahin explained during her recent interview. It became abundantly clear how much she cherishes both her family roots and her creative ventures as she eagerly talks about the launch of her collection.
Reflecting on her recent filming back from the picturesque landscapes of New Zealand, she revealed, "I truly appreciate this opportunity and didn’t expect the new year to kick off with such significant projects." Sahin’s positive attitude is palpable as she shares her excitement about the warm reception of her shoe collection and its successful transition to its third iteration.
Those fortunate enough to watch her on "Traumschiff" can look forward to her portrayal, described by Sahin as one executed with authenticity. "I approached my role with the goal of portraying it as authentically as possible. The character was originally envisioned as older than I actually am, which presented me with the delightful challenge of aging up my performance. I often come across as younger than my true age," she said.
This new venture marks the realization of what many actors dream of. Sahin had never imagined filming for "Traumschiff." Her connection with Wolfgang Rademann, the late producer renowned for the show's success, plays a pivotal role in her career. "I had the pleasure of meeting Wolfgang at Café Kranzler in Berlin; he brought along newspaper clippings about me and expressed his hopes for me to join the show. That was incredibly moving," she shared, reflecting on the mentorship and encouragement she received. Sahin recalls taking her first steps with a smaller role, one located on land, which makes her recent accomplishments even more gratifying.
With breathtaking opportunities to film across several stunning locations, including New Zealand, Sahin is not only fulfilling her dreams but also creating memorable experiences. "These are experiences many don’t have the chance to undertake within such short time frames," she remarked, contrasting her endeavors with the challenges of being a mother to two young boys.
When it came to her latest shoe collection, the actress expressed enthusiasm about the standout pieces. "It's hard for me to pick favorites from the new collection because it's filled with so many beautiful and trendy models. I'm particularly fond of the modern Arrus Pantoletten and the stylish Brutees sandals featuring platform soles. The latter, especially, have intrigued me—available either in chic denim or stunning beige adorned with sparkling rhinestone elements—they are surely among my favorites from the "Palado by Sila Sahin" Spring/Summer collection," Sahin explained.
Regarding her personal shoe collection at home, Sahin admitted, "Absolutely! I love shoes; it’s definitely something I’ve picked up from my father, who also had quite the fondness for footwear. Shoes are honestly what I enjoy buying the most, particularly high heels and sandals." Her passion for footwear beautifully complements her entrepreneurial spirit as she explores the possibility of venturing beyond shoes.
"I could definitely see myself designing swimwear, pajamas, or even wedding dresses," she shared, hinting at her future aspirations within the fashion world.
Looking to the future, Sahin remains ambitious with her projects for 2025. "A significant goal for this year is working on my script and hopefully selling it to a studio or broadcaster," she stated. This glimpse of her future creative ambitions reveals her dedication not only to acting and fashion but also to storytelling.
With her busy schedule, Sahin confirmed there will be no return for her to the "Karl-May-Spiele" festival this year. "The uniqueness of this production lies significantly within the yearly changing main cast, aside from the character of Winnetou. The fact I was part of it even twice was an exceptional case," Sahin explained. Likewise, she noted her return to "Alles was zählt" is not currently planned as it would necessitate relocating to Cologne, something she is not ready to take on at the moment.
Sila Sahin’s dual triumphs signify the vibrant creative energy she brings to the table, positioning her as one to watch. With ambitious plans and personal reflections on her career, she continues to inspire many as she navigates these exciting new chapters.
