Major celebrations will take place, with two principal broadcasts reigning over the festive night: Raiuno and Canale 5. From Reggio Calabria’s Piazza Indipendenza, Marco Liorni will lead viewers to 2025, showcasing the stunning local seaside as the backdrop to performances by icons such as Ricchi e Poveri, Anna Oxa, Diodato, and Patty Pravo among others. Viewers can expect lively music interspersed with glimpses of Calabria’s natural beauty throughout the night.
Meanwhile, Canale 5 hosts the lively ‘Capodanno in musica’ event from Piazza Duomo, Catania, again with familiar face Federica Panicucci at the helm, joined by co-host Fabio Rovazzi. This year’s line-up is diverse, featuring beloved artists such as Alberto Urso, Baby K, and iconic acts like Umberto Tozzi and Riccardo Fogli. With performances series kicking off right after the presidential address, excitement will flood the square.
Palermo will also contribute to the vibrant Sicilian celebrations with singer Biagio Antonacci’s concert, marking his return after 25 years to perform ‘Tutti a Palermo’. His live show promises to cover new hits along with beloved classics, and will be accompanied by energetic DJ sets throughout the night, ensuring the party continues after the clock strikes midnight.
For those among the young crowd, Siracusa mixes tradition with modernity. An exciting entertainment event will welcome the new year, featuring the popular artist Aka 7even alongside the dynamic Babil On Suite band. All will culminate right at midnight, where fireworks will follow the energetic beats.
Laura Pausini will make waves with her concert closing her world tour at Messina’s PalaRescifina, the last of three highly anticipated dates. Celebratory performances, including exclusive arrangements and medleys, will spotlight her three-decade-long career, which she delivers with heartfelt devotion. Nico Arezzo, hailing from Ragusa, is set to open this grand finale.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, Agrigento’s Piazza Marconi will captivate audiences with Jimmy Sax and orchestral music courtesy of Maestro Vincenzo Sorrentino, adding depth to the festivities. Not to be missed, Fiorella Mannoia will delight crowds with her ‘Fiorella Sinfonica’ concert where she’ll lend new life to her classic hits, transforming the night with her orchestral sound.
Classical music lovers will be honored with two prestigious performances on New Year’s Day itself. At Teatro La Fenice, Daniel Harding will conduct the New Year’s concert, performing alongside celebrated musicians Mariangela Sicilia and Francesco Demuro. Also, Riccardo Muti leads the prestigious Wiener Philharmoniker from Vienna’s Musikverein, embracing Strauss’ works on the occasion of the composer’s 200th birthday.
With Francesco Gabbani bringing his engaging style to Augusta, alongside Niky Arezzo and entertainment from Matia Bazar and Anna Tatangelo across various towns, it’s set to be quite the celebratory musical feast across Sicily.
This New Year’s Eve, Sicily and Italy prove once again how music serves as the indispensable thread weaving communities together as they bid farewell to the year gone by, and raise their glasses to the promise of the future.
