Members Jun and KAZMA embrace their true identities with new stage names.

In a surprising turn of events, the popular Japanese comedy duo Shizuru announced significant changes to their stage names on April 13, 2025. Members Jun Murakama and KAZMA, who have been entertaining audiences for over two decades, took to their social media accounts to share their new identities.

Jun Murakama, who has been known by his full name for years, revealed that he will now simply go by "Jun." In his heartfelt announcement, he expressed a desire to return to his roots, stating, "This time, I, Shizuru's 'Jun Murakama,' will change my stage name to 'Jun.' Looking back, I've been called 'Jun' by friends and teachers throughout my life, from elementary school to university. I decided to revert to my original self and will continue my activities under this name." He further added, "I want to be pure and honest, just as my name suggests, and I will strive to enjoy life and improve myself. As I enter my 22nd year with Shizuru at age 44, I hope to have your continued support."

KAZMA, on the other hand, announced his return to his birth name, Kazuma Ikeda. In his statement, he mentioned, "I apologize for the personal nature of this announcement, but I would like to inform you that starting today, April 13, I will be performing under my real name, Kazuma Ikeda." He emphasized his commitment to his craft, saying, "I will continue to approach each job with sincerity, never forgetting to be grateful. I would appreciate it if you could refrain from inquiring about this matter further."

The duo, formed in 2003, has been a staple in the Japanese comedy scene, gaining recognition for their unique humor and performances. They are alumni of the NSC Tokyo School, where they were part of the 9th generation of students. Over the years, Shizuru has achieved notable success, including reaching the finals of the prestigious King of Conte competition in 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2016.

Jun was born on January 14, 1981, and hails from Adachi Ward in Tokyo. He stands 169 cm tall and weighs 59 kg, with blood type AB. His hobbies include gravure analysis, gravure appreciation, and soccer, which is also his special skill. KAZMA, born on January 17, 1984, in Saitama Prefecture, is slightly taller at 172 cm and weighs 58 kg, with blood type A. His interests include movies, manga, and games, and he has a unique talent for opening and drinking canned coffee with his mouth.

Interestingly, KAZMA had previously changed his name from Kazuma Ikeda in January 2022, and after approximately three years, he has decided to revert to his original name. The official profile on the Yoshimoto Kogyo website has already been updated to reflect these changes.
