SF Express Launches New Storage Service For Travelers

The service offers luggage storage and parcel collection at Shenzhen ports to enhance convenience for Hong Kong residents.

In a significant move aimed at enhancing convenience for Hong Kong residents traveling to Shenzhen, SF Express has launched a new "Collection and Temporary Storage" service at five port stores. This initiative, running until March 31, 2025, allows travelers to store their luggage and parcels securely while they enjoy shopping and sightseeing in the bustling city.

The service is designed to alleviate the common hassle of carrying heavy bags or online shopping deliveries across the border. Customers can utilize the service at SF Express locations in Futian Port, Luohu Port, Huanggang Port, Shenzhen Bay Port, and Prince Bay Cruise Terminal. This dual service includes both "Luggage Temporary Storage" and "Parcel Collection," catering to various needs for travelers.

For those opting for luggage storage, the process is straightforward. Upon crossing the border, travelers can drop off their bags at any of the participating SF Express stores. Using the WeChat mini-program, they simply enter their storage and pickup times, the number of items, and their contact information to calculate the storage fee. The cost is quite reasonable, starting at ¥5 per day for items with the longest side measuring 45cm or less, while larger items incur a fee of ¥10 per day.

Additionally, the "Parcel Collection" service allows customers to have their online purchases delivered to an SF Express location. By scanning a code through the WeChat mini-program and selecting their preferred store, customers can specify the collection date and provide their waybill number. The collection fee is incredibly low, starting at just ¥1 per day, making it an attractive option for online shoppers.

As part of this new initiative, SF Express is also addressing a growing concern regarding online fraud. Recently, reports have surfaced about a scam involving fake SF Express websites that promise to collect payments on behalf of sellers. The fraudulent websites ask sellers for personal information, including names, phone numbers, and bank account details, under the guise of a cash-on-delivery service.

Cybersecurity experts have warned that these scams are becoming increasingly common. They emphasize that SF Express does not offer cash-on-delivery services and never requests sensitive bank information from users. Official communications from SF Express confirmed that their legitimate website begins with "htm.sf-express," contrasting sharply with the fraudulent "www.sfxpress" domain.

In light of these developments, SF Express has taken proactive measures to protect its customers. Starting April 14, 2025, the company will reduce SMS notifications and transition all self-pickup information to its official mobile application, the SFHK APP. This change aims to enhance security and provide customers with real-time updates on their parcels.

In a recent operational report, SF Express revealed that its express logistics, supply chain, and international business revenue saw a year-on-year increase of 9.63% in March 2025. The express logistics segment alone generated ¥17.897 billion, marking a 10.61% growth compared to the previous year, with a significant increase in business volume of 25.36%.

Looking back at the entire year of 2024, SF Express reported a profit attributable to shareholders of ¥10.17 billion, a 23.51% increase from the previous year. The company's total operating income for 2024 was ¥284.42 billion, reflecting a 10.07% growth. Notably, the express logistics business accounted for ¥205.8 billion of this revenue, while the supply chain and international business contributed ¥70.5 billion.

As the company continues to expand its services and enhance customer experience, it remains committed to supporting the logistics industry and providing innovative solutions. SF Express aims to empower various sectors through digital logistics solutions that facilitate transformation and improve supply chain efficiency.

In conclusion, the introduction of the "Collection and Temporary Storage" service by SF Express not only addresses the logistical challenges faced by travelers but also highlights the company's dedication to enhancing customer security and convenience. With ongoing efforts to combat fraud and improve service delivery, SF Express is poised to maintain its leadership in the logistics sector.
