Southern Spain is bracing for severe weather conditions as the Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (AEMET) has issued yellow alerts for rain and storms affecting several regions, particularly Sevilla and its surroundings. According to AEMET, the alert is triggered due to expected downpours of up to 15 liters per hour, significantly elevuating risks associated with local flooding and infrastructure disruptions. This alert is set to remain active from 09:00 to 20:59, with predictions for intense rainfall leading to potential thunderstorms.
Sevilla itself will experience covered skies and rain throughout the early hours. Notably, thunderstorms are anticipated beginning from 06:00, continuing through the day. Rain is expected to accumulate around 10 liters per square meter by noon and taper off to lighter showers by the afternoon.
The city will see temperatures peaking around 18 degrees Celsius, with minimums hovering at about 11 degrees. Meteorologists warn residents to prepare for fluctuates weather conditions, including possible storms, as dynamic systems directly impact the region's climate.
Further complicate the weather patterns, the introduction of another DANA system promises to stretch instability across the region.
