Strong high pressure will maintain control of the weather through early Saturday, May 3, 2025, with dry weather and warm temperatures. A cold front approaches on Saturday, May 3, 2025, bringing increasing warmth and humidity with a threat of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms are likely for Saturday night, May 3, 2025, as the front stalls just inland from the coast. The front will remain stationary along or just inland from the coast through Sunday, May 4, 2025, Monday, May 5, 2025, and Tuesday, May 6, 2025, bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms each afternoon with cooler temperatures.
The best opportunity for showers and storms will come Saturday evening, May 3, 2025, into Saturday night, May 3, 2025. Most of Saturday, May 3, 2025, should be dry for the Strawberry Festival, but scattered showers are expected for Sunday, May 4, 2025.
Today, Thursday, May 1, 2025, will be mostly cloudy, very warm, humid, and there will also be scattered rain. We are in the Slight Risk, level 2 on a scale of 0 to 5 severity, for severe storms today. The main concern would be damaging winds, but large hail and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. The pockets of rain will be on and off over the next few days, but the best chance for stronger storms will be during the afternoon/evening when we are warmer. Today temperatures are starting out around 60°F, and we will warm to a high around 82°F.
Stay weather aware and act if a warning is issued for your location. There is a 70% chance of rain today, so a few areas may dodge the rain. Tomorrow, Friday, May 2, 2025, will be humid again, especially early, with morning temps around 60°F and a high around 76°F, with a 70% chance of rain. The best chance for stronger storms will be during the afternoon/evening on Friday, mainly to the south/east.
The system lingers over the region and will keep on and off rain showers around through the weekend and into early next week. The weekend will have high temperatures in the lower 60s with a 60% chance of rain on Saturday, May 3, 2025, and a 40% chance on Sunday, May 4, 2025. Monday, May 5, 2025, will warm to 67°F, then Tuesday, May 6, 2025, will warm to 72°F with a few showers from time to time. Wednesday, May 7, 2025, will be in the mid-70s with partly cloudy skies.
