Severe Heat Wave Expected Across Egypt Tomorrow

Temperatures rise significantly as weather conditions remain extreme, prompting health warnings.

The General Authority of Meteorology has announced that tomorrow, Saturday, May 10, 2025, will witness a significant rise in temperatures across Egypt, continuing the trend of severe heat that has gripped the nation. The forecast indicates that while daytime temperatures will be intensely high, they are expected to moderate at night.

According to the meteorological experts, the weather will be extremely hot during the day across most regions, while nighttime temperatures will offer some relief. The authority has also warned of potential morning mist on several highways and roads close to water bodies, which could impact visibility for drivers.

In terms of specific weather phenomena, the General Authority of Meteorology has confirmed that areas leading to Greater Cairo, the northern coasts, the Canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt may experience this morning mist. This could pose a hazard for motorists traveling through these regions early in the day.

As for the expected temperatures, they vary widely across different cities and governorates in Egypt. In Cairo, the forecast predicts a high of 38 degrees Celsius and a low of 26 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Alexandria is expected to reach a high of 36 degrees and a low of 25 degrees. In the coastal city of Matrouh, temperatures are projected at a maximum of 34 degrees and a minimum of 23 degrees.

Further south, the temperatures continue to climb. Sohag is expected to see highs of 41 degrees and lows of 25 degrees, while Qena and Aswan are predicted to reach scorching highs of 42 degrees and lows of 26 degrees.

The state of the Mediterranean Sea is forecasted to be moderate, with wave heights ranging between 1.5 and 2.25 meters. Winds are expected to blow from the southeast to the northeast. Meanwhile, the Red Sea is anticipated to have slightly calmer conditions, with wave heights between 1 and 1.75 meters and winds from the northwest.

The General Authority of Meteorology's predictions reflect ongoing concerns regarding the extreme heat, which has been a persistent issue as the country transitions into the summer months. The weather patterns have raised questions among residents and officials alike about the implications for health and daily activities.

It's important for individuals to remain cautious during this heat wave. Staying hydrated and avoiding outdoor activities during peak heat hours are critical recommendations from health officials. The combination of high temperatures and humidity can lead to heat-related illnesses, which can be particularly dangerous for vulnerable populations such as the elderly and those with pre-existing health conditions.

As the summer approaches, the Egyptian government and health authorities are likely to intensify their public awareness campaigns regarding heat safety. This includes advice on how to cope with extreme temperatures and the importance of recognizing the signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

In summary, tomorrow's weather forecast for Egypt indicates a continuation of the severe heat wave, with daytime temperatures soaring and nighttime conditions providing some respite. Residents are urged to take precautions and stay informed about weather updates as the situation develops.
