Seven-Eleven Japan Expands ATM Transfer Services To 1,000 Businesses

The unique cash transfer system, available at over 27,000 ATMs, offers convenience without the need for bank account details.

Japanese retail giant Seven-Eleven Japan continues to innovate its customer offerings, recently announcing significant growth in its cash transfer services. The company revealed on December 26, 2024, through its subsidiary Seven Payment Service, the number of businesses utilizing its unique cash transfer service, "ATM受取," has crossed the threshold of 1,000 contracts.

The "ATM受取" service, launched back in May 2018, has grown rapidly due to its convenience, allowing individuals to receive money from companies without the need for bank account details. Notably, customers can obtain funds through more than 27,000 Seven Bank ATMs located throughout Japan, available around the clock, every day of the year.

Seven Bank’s President, Tsunehiko Kawabe, emphasized the service’s impact: "ATM受取 allows for easy and speedy transfer methods." Indeed, this convenience has led to diverse applications ranging from cashback offers and refunds for canceled services to the distribution of municipal subsidies and advance payments for salaries.

Notably, the service's recent expansion demonstrates how corporations during cashback campaigns and refund operations are embracing digital solutions for customer's demands. The company has reported significant usage for various transactional needs, as more entities recognize the practicality of non-account cash transfers.

With its successful ascent to 1,000 contracted companies over just six and a half years, Seven Payment Service reiterates its commitment to enhancing consumer experiences and servicing more diverse needs. The rise of applications for the "ATM受取" service is attributed to its user-friendly structure, which reduces the burden of information collection and management associated with traditional bank transfers.

Looking forward, Seven Payment Service aims to broaden the horizons of cash transfer capabilities, echoing its vision: “To continue creating the future of everyday life by exceeding our customers' expectations.” With opportunities such as cashbacks associated with mobile service providers and refunds related to e-commerce cancellations, more sectors are anticipated to integrate the service.

The success story of Seven Payment Service exemplifies the growing demand for efficient cash transfer solutions without traditional banking barriers. With each advancing partnership, Seven Payment Service is poised to redefine the cash transfer environment for both businesses and individual clients.
