He will also manage resource and talent development, content programming, and build collaborations with ABC Owned Television Stations. Reporting directly to ABC News president Almin Karamehmedovic, Tienabeso’s role is marked with high expectations.

Karamehmedovic praised Tienabeso, stating, “Seni is one of the most talented, hard-working journalists in the industry who has a natural instinct for creative storytelling and impactful reporting.” He emphasized the significance of Tienabeso’s leadership, particularly during these consequential times for news coverage.

Before this promotion, Tienabeso served as the executive director of ABC News Live, where he made remarkable strides. Under his leadership, the streaming channel achieved over 600 million hours streamed by 2024 and garnered prestigious Emmy and duPont-Columbia Awards. His contributions also include serving as executive producer of ABC News Live’s primetime programming, where he created the signature news program “Prime with Linsey Davis.”

Having begun his career with ABC News in 2007, Tienabeso has steadily climbed the ranks from being a producer at ABC NewsOne’s affiliate service to becoming the senior producer for “World News Tonight with David Muir.” His international reporting experience is extensive, having covered pivotal events from six continents and 45 states, including several presidential elections, significant natural disasters, the Israel-Hamas war, the infamous Boston Marathon terrorist attack, the Haiti earthquake, and the Chilean miner rescue.

This new role not only celebrates Tienabeso’s accomplishments but also reaffirms ABC News' commitment to delivering comprehensive news coverage across multiple platforms. His leadership is expected to bolster the network's continued strive for excellence, particularly as it faces the challenges of the current media environment.

With his impressive resume and unparalleled dedication, Tienabeso is poised to make significant contributions to ABC News Live and its specialized units. His story is one of talent meeting opportunity, and the news industry will be watching how he leads the future of streaming news at ABC.
