Search Continues For Missing Luis Piovesana As Police Urge Public To Help

Community rallies to assist police search for 26-year-old last seen in Bristol

A large search operation is currently underway to locate 26-year-old Luis Piovesana, who was last seen on the early morning of February 28, 2025, after reportedly expressing feelings of danger to emergency services. Piovesana was captured on CCTV walking around Eastgate Retail Park shortly after leaving The Jam Jar nightclub at approximately 2:55 AM, and he was last seen between 3:15 AM and 3:30 AM.

Initial reports indicate Piovesana left The Jam Jar, located on Little Ann Street, and took a taxi to Eastgate Retail Park. Shortly afterward, he made a call to 999, lasting 34 seconds, but was unable to be reached again after the call ended. Avon and Somerset Police have labeled the incident as 'incredibly concerning', stating they are actively engaged in attempts to safeguard his welfare.

Detective Inspector Pete Walker addressed the media, saying, “We remain incredibly concerned for the welfare of Luis and, unfortunately, we have yet to find him.” He emphasized the urgency of the situation as over 100 officers and detectives from the Avon and Somerset Police are involved in extensive search operations, supported by local volunteers and family members.

The last confirmed sighting of Piovesana showed him moving through Eastgate Retail Park, where he was last seen near the Click and Collect area behind Tesco Extra. At approximately 3:04 AM, police received another call from the public reporting concerns about a man walking close to Junction 2 of the M32, but officers were unable to locate him at the time.

Investigators have reported collecting multiple CCTV clips as part of their investigation, which could shed light on his movements. Items belonging to Piovesana—including his bag, phone, and wallet—were discovered abandoned at the retail park by his friend, who used tracking technology to find them. This alarming find has heightened concerns for Piovesana's safety.

Friends and family members joined together to aid the police search for Piovesana over the weekend. Laurin Bohler, the partner of Luis, captured the emotional strain of the situation, stating, “We are looking for places where we could find him alive. It’s frustrating not having seen him on any CCTV since the night he disappeared.” Residents are being urged to thoroughly check their sheds and back gardens as part of the search efforts.

The Piovesana family has been supported by specially trained family liaison officers from the police who are facilitating updates during this distressing time. Piovesana’s sister Lubjana has also been active, stating her brother called the 999 service just after getting out of the taxi and expressed distress during the call.

Police have reiterated their message urging the community to remain vigilant. Local residents from the St Werburgh's, St Agnes, Eastville, and Fishponds areas are particularly encouraged to assist by reviewing their CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage from the time period between 3:00 AM and 7:00 AM on February 28. Walker stressed, “This could be key to locating Luis's next steps.”

Of concern is the unsettling information from Luis's calls before disappearing. He reportedly mentioned feeling he had been drugged and had sent a voicemail indicating he felt he was being kidnapped, raising serious concerns about his condition and safety.

“We are extremely grateful for the support of Luis' family and friends,” said DI Pete Walker, “as well as search and rescue teams who have facilitated vast searches.” The police have also been utilizing divers, drone teams, and specialized search officers as part of their strategy to find him.

Since being reported missing at 7:37 AM on February 28, the investigation has intensified. Officers are conducting house-to-house inquiries, placing missing person posters across the community, and even appealing to the numerous people involved with local events like parkruns to assist with information gathering.

Local authorities remain determined to find Luis Piovesana and are pushing for anyone who may have any information—regardless of its perceived significance—to reach out to them. “If you think you’ve seen him or have any footage or information, please contact us immediately with reference number 5225052434,” Detective Inspector Walker urged.

The search continues as police remain hopeful for any pertinent information to assist the case and lead to the return of Luis Piovesana.
