Sean Connery's Iconic Villa Returns To Market For $26.4 Million

Once home to the legendary actor, Villa Roc Fleuri offers luxury and stunning views on the French Riviera.

Sean Connery's former villa in Nice, France, known as the "Bond Villa," is back on the market with an asking price of approximately $26.4 million. This iconic property, officially known as Villa Roc Fleuri, has captivated potential buyers with its rich history and stunning location at the foot of the Mont Boron hillside.

Connery, the legendary actor who portrayed James Bond in seven films, owned the villa during the 1970s and 1980s. According to Chuck McKee of Savills, the brokerage handling the listing, the villa is better known locally as the "Bond Villa." He describes it as having "arguably the most spectacular view in Nice," overlooking the port of Nice and Cap d’Antibes.

Built in 1930, Villa Roc Fleuri spans over 10,000 square feet and retains its original architectural charm. The main house features exquisite details such as mosaic inlays, wood paneling, wrought-iron banisters, and the original elevator cabin. The five-bedroom, five-bathroom layout includes a top-floor primary suite with dual en-suite bathrooms and access to panoramic terraces, perfect for enjoying the breathtaking views.

Outdoor amenities are equally impressive, with a rooftop entertaining deck complete with a built-in barbecue, manicured lawns, and a network of garden pathways leading directly to the rocky shoreline below. A separate caretaker’s residence and a guesthouse divided into two apartments add to the estate's allure.

One of the standout features of the villa is its spa area, which boasts a gym and an indoor/outdoor heated infinity pool that "feels like it’s overflowing into the sea," as McKee described to Mansion Global. The infinity pool offers dramatic sea views, making it an ideal spot for relaxation.

The current owners, who purchased the property in 2015, have undertaken a complete renovation, modernizing the central heating and cooling systems, bathrooms, and landscaping. Previously listed in late 2020 for around $33.79 million, the current price of $26.4 million reflects the owners' desire to attract buyers in a revitalized market.

Connery, who passed away in 2020, also owned another notable property in the region: Domaine de Terre Blanche, a château in Tourrettes he bought in 1979 and later sold to billionaire Dietmar Hopp. That property has since been transformed into a luxury resort.

In recent years, Nice has re-emerged as a premier luxury destination, particularly appealing to Parisians seeking a better lifestyle. The city has seen significant infrastructure improvements, including the renovation of historic buildings and the expansion of gardens. New restaurants and hotels have also opened, while the airport provides excellent international connections.

As a result, house prices in Nice have experienced increases of 10 to 20 percent in some areas, making it an opportune time for investors. With its iconic status and luxurious offerings, Villa Roc Fleuri represents not just a home, but a piece of celebrity history.

For those dreaming of a summer retreat on the French Riviera, Villa Roc Fleuri stands as a testament to Connery's legacy and taste, embodying the glamour and elegance that defined his legendary career. This villa is more than just a property; it is a unique opportunity to own a slice of cinematic history.
