Robert Cadger, a 47-year-old from Stirling, Scotland, has been found in a hospital in Naples with serious injuries after going missing for a week. Cadger had traveled to Italy on March 8, 2025, with friends to attend a Serie A match between Napoli and Fiorentina the next day. His plan included sightseeing and enjoying the local culture, but things took a turn on March 10 when he and a friend made a trip to the historical site of Pompeii.
After his friend stopped to wait at the entrance to the site, Cadger never arrived. His friends and family became increasingly concerned when he failed to meet them later at the Spanish Quarter in Naples, a bustling area known for its narrow streets and vibrant atmosphere. Cadger was due to return to Scotland on March 11, but missed his flight, prompting his family to contact local authorities as they feared for his safety. His brother Euan expressed concern, explaining, “Bob went on holiday to Italy and was due home on Tuesday. He has not returned home and nobody has heard from him since Monday. We are obviously very worried.”
After numerous appeals and heightened worry from his family, the news broke on March 18 that Cadger had been traced to a hospital in Naples. His family confirmed that he has "broken bones" and is expected to stay hospitalized for at least two weeks. Cadger’s brother Euan shared an update on a Go Fund Me page that he established to help cover medical costs, stating, “Our brother Bob is in hospital in Naples following an accident whilst on holiday. We are raising funds to support Bob, to help with any medical costs, flights, accommodation and for family to attend the hospital to support his recovery.”
As of the latest updates, the family has raised over £2,400 within just a few hours, demonstrating a tremendous wave of support from the community and those who sympathize with the ordeal. Euan expresses gratitude, saying, “The showing of love and care from everyone has been tremendous!! Thank you!”
