Scott Van-Der-Sluis Joins Netflix Perfect Match Season

After multiple Love Island stints, Scott van-der-Sluis aims for love on Netflix's expanded reality dating show featuring stars from top franchises

Scott van-der-Sluis is gearing up for his fourth reality TV adventure, this time on Netflix's Perfect Match, premiering August 1, 2025. The 24-year-old Welsh footballer and reality star, who has become a familiar face across multiple Love Island franchises, is once again throwing his hat in the ring to find love. Fans and fellow islanders alike are rooting for him as he joins a star-studded cast of reality veterans from across the dating show spectrum.

Scott’s journey into the reality dating world began on Love Island UK season 10 in 2023, where he made a splash but ultimately failed to secure a lasting connection, notably with Irish islander Catherine Agbaje. After his UK stint, he crossed the Atlantic to appear on Love Island USA season 5 and then took part in the inaugural Love Island Games. Despite these attempts, Scott has yet to find his perfect match on screen.

In a candid moment shared on fellow islander Lochan Wowacki’s YouTube cooking show, Scott revealed he had even considered joining the second season of Love Island All Stars but pulled out just two days before filming started. “I was in a moment where I was like, ‘Right, yeah, I could do this, but if at any point I don’t feel like it at all or something, or I have a rethink, I’m more than prepared to pull out,’” he explained. “And that just happened, I just thought this isn’t the time for me.”

Now, Scott is taking his reality dating quest to Netflix’s Perfect Match, a show that has expanded its reach for season 3 by inviting reality stars from beyond the Netflix universe. This season will feature 25 singles from shows like The Bachelor, Love Is Blind (both UK and US editions), Love Island (UK and US), The Ultimatum, Too Hot to Handle, Temptation Island, and more, all competing in a tropical villa full of romance, strategy, and drama.

The format of Perfect Match is a twist on traditional dating shows. Contestants pair off and face compatibility challenges to win private dates and the power to bring new singles into the villa. These new arrivals can be set up with other couples or date the introducers themselves, shaking up alliances and romances. At the end of each cycle, singles who fail to match must leave, with only one couple ultimately crowned “The Match.”

Scott’s announcement on social media was met with enthusiasm from his reality TV peers. His ex-flame Catherine Agbaje playfully commented, “Let’s see what craziness you’ve cooked up this time,” while Whitney Adebayo cheered, “He’s backkkk,” and Tyrique Hyde added, “Go on sonnnnnnn.” Even Love Island US star Jana Craig and influencer Mitchel Taylor joined the chorus of support. Clearly, Scott’s lengthy and determined reality TV journey has earned him a loyal fan base.

Joining Scott on Perfect Match season 3 is a glittering ensemble of reality stars. For the first time, the show welcomes contestants from outside Netflix’s own reality franchises, including familiar faces from The Bachelor franchise such as Rachel Recchia and Clayton Echard. Rachel, a former flight instructor turned influencer, and Clayton, known for his controversial season 26 of The Bachelor and a bizarre paternity lawsuit that was resolved in his favor, bring their own drama and fan following to the villa.

From Love Island USA, Carrington Rodriguez, Justine Joy Ndiba, and Ray Gantt return, alongside Scott, adding a mix of charm and past villa experience. Justine, a two-time reality winner who took home the prize on Love Island USA season 2 and Love Island Games season 1, is a formidable competitor. Fans speculate that Justine and Carrington may have won Perfect Match season 3, citing their matching post-filming holidays and strong connections. If true, this would mark a third reality show victory for Justine.

Also featured are Love Is Blind stars Amber Desiree “AD” Smith and Ollie Sutherland, who met on Perfect Match and got engaged during filming. They announced in May 2025 that they are expecting their first child, a real-life love story unfolding alongside the show’s competition. Other Love Is Blind alums Madison Errichiello and Freddie Powell add emotional depth and advocacy, with Freddie known for his work supporting Down syndrome awareness.

The cast is rounded out by popular contestants from Too Hot to Handle (Jalen Brown, Louis Russell, Lucy Syed), The Ultimatum (J.R. Warren and Sandy Gallagher), Siesta Key (Juliette Porter), Dated & Related (Daniel Perfetto), The Mole (Hannah Burns, who recently announced her engagement), and The Circle (Quori-Tyler “QT” Bullock). This diverse group promises a season packed with romantic tension, strategic gameplay, and unexpected alliances.

Season 3 of Perfect Match will premiere in three waves on Netflix: the first six episodes drop on August 1, followed by episodes 7 to 9 on August 8, and the finale on August 15, 2025. Fans can expect a rollercoaster ride of emotions, betrayals, and hopefully, true love.

Scott van-der-Sluis’s persistence in the reality dating world, spanning multiple countries and formats, illustrates the magnetic pull these shows have—not just for viewers but for contestants chasing love and fame. Whether this fourth attempt on Perfect Match will finally be his breakthrough remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Scott’s story is far from over, and the villa’s tropical backdrop is set for some unforgettable moments.
