Saudi Arabia Launches Electronic Registration For Students

Ministry of Education streamlines enrollment process for new students in schools and kindergartens

The Ministry of Education in Saudi Arabia has officially announced the commencement of electronic registration for new students entering the first grade of primary school and kindergarten for the upcoming academic year 1447 AH. This registration period will start on April 6, 2025, and will run until May 3, 2025, as stated by the ministry. The move aims to streamline the registration process, saving time and effort for parents while ensuring the accuracy of the data submitted, aligning with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

To successfully complete the electronic registration for new students, parents must adhere to a series of steps outlined by the Ministry of Education. First, they need to access the Ministry's official website and select the "Electronic Registration" option. Next, they will log in through the unified national access portal using their Absher account credentials. After logging in, parents are required to enter essential student information, including the full name, date of birth, and nationality. They must then select a preferred school based on their residential location and upload necessary documents such as a birth certificate, vaccination records, and proof of residence. Finally, parents are advised to double-check the accuracy of all entered data before confirming the registration. Upon completion of these steps, a confirmation text message will be sent to the registered mobile number to verify the registration process.

The Ministry has established specific conditions that must be met for the electronic registration of new students. These include that the student must be at least 6 years old or less than 90 days from that age limit, completion of all basic vaccinations according to the Ministry of Health’s schedule, and provision of proof of residence that confirms the family’s location within the school’s catchment area. Additionally, students must undergo the required medical examinations at accredited health centers. Parents are urged to ensure that these conditions are fulfilled to guarantee their children’s acceptance for registration.

The introduction of the electronic registration system offers numerous benefits for parents and students alike. It significantly reduces the time and effort required for parents by allowing them to complete the registration process online. This system also enhances the accuracy of the data submitted, thereby minimizing errors associated with manual entry. Furthermore, it aims to achieve fairness in the allocation of students to schools based on established criteria, while promoting transparency and governance in the registration process. Through this initiative, the Ministry of Education is committed to improving the experiences of both parents and students, providing advanced digital educational services that keep pace with modern technological advancements.

Key dates for the electronic registration process are as follows: for first grade, registration opens on April 6, 2025, and closes on May 3, 2025. Similarly, registration for kindergarten (level three) follows the same schedule. For kindergarten levels one and two, registration begins on June 22, 2025, and will continue until all available spots are filled. Parents are strongly encouraged to adhere to these timelines and ensure that all requirements are met to secure their children’s place in government schools.

In a parallel development, the Ministry of Health has initiated the acceptance of job promotion requests for administrative staff from the second to the ninth level. This process will begin on April 16, 2025, and will conclude on April 22, 2025, utilizing the "Masar" platform. The ministry has indicated that the assessment of job performance for the year 2024 will account for 50% of the evaluation criteria, while training courses will contribute 20%. Employees must verify the accuracy of their registered data in "Masar" before selecting their job preferences.

In case of discrepancies, employees are advised to consult their local human resources department to correct any inaccuracies in their employment data via the "Tawthiq" system, which is managed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. Following the selection of job preferences, the ministry will enable the attachment of documents through the "Mawarid" system for those who have indicated their job desires on the "Masar" platform after the deadline for preference selection.

The ministry clarified that if no job opportunities for promotion appear in an employee’s record on the "Masar" platform, it indicates that the employee is either not eligible for promotion or that there are no suitable positions available that meet their qualifications. Furthermore, volunteer work is also considered in the evaluation, contributing 20% to the overall score, with a maximum of 800 hours and a minimum of 40 hours required to earn points. Employees are encouraged to propose initiatives that can lead to financial savings or improve the efficiency of their department, as well as obtain certificates of excellence, which account for an additional 3% of their evaluation score.

As the registration period for both educational and job promotion processes approaches, it is crucial for parents and employees alike to stay informed and prepared. The automated nature of the registration and promotion processes ensures efficiency and minimizes human error, reflecting the ministry’s commitment to leveraging technology for improved public service.

Moreover, the General Directorate of Passports has announced the initiation of electronic applications for issuing entry permits to the Holy Capital for resident workers during the Hajj season. This service will be available through the Ministry of Interior’s electronic platform "Absher" and the Muqeem portal, eliminating the need for individuals to visit passport administration offices.

The integration with the unified digital platform for issuing Hajj permits, known as the "Tasrih platform," allows the Absher Individuals platform to issue permits for domestic workers and those under their sponsorship, holders of distinguished residency, investors, and citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council countries. After submitting the required documents, workers in establishments located within the Holy Capital can obtain their entry permits, facilitating their operations during the Hajj season.

This comprehensive approach by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health, and General Directorate of Passports demonstrates a significant commitment to enhancing public service delivery through technology, ensuring that processes are more accessible, efficient, and transparent for all citizens.
