The Ministry of Education in Saudi Arabia will begin receiving electronic registrations for first-grade students for the academic year 1447 AH on Sunday, April 6, 2025. Registration will continue for 28 days, concluding on Thursday, May 1, 2025, through the electronic "Noor" platform, which has been designed to streamline the process. This digital service aims to facilitate enrollment in schools without the need for parents to visit educational institutions or administrative offices, saving them both time and effort.
To ensure a smooth transition into the educational system, the Ministry has established specific age criteria for enrollment. Children eligible for first grade must have turned six years old by the start of the academic year or be less than six years old by no more than 90 days. This means that children born on or before November 23, 2019, are eligible to register. Additionally, children at the third level of nursery schools, born between August 26, 2019, and August 25, 2020, can also register.
Furthermore, registration is open for children in the first and second grades in Riyadh and those registered in nursery schools, which aligns with the Ministry's goal of inclusivity in education. The first level of nursery registration includes children born from September 22, 2021, to October 2, 2022, while the second level encompasses those born from August 16, 2020, to August 26, 2021.

Parents must log in to the electronic registration site via the "Nafaath" portal, review and agree to the registration requirements, confirm their information, and specify the child they wish to register. They will also need to provide their address, select preferred schools, and verify fitness examination data before submitting the registration request.
The Ministry has assured that eligible families will receive text messages containing a registration link during the registration period. This proactive approach is intended to facilitate the process and ensure that all students have the opportunity to enroll in their desired educational institutions.
In addition to these registration details, the academic calendar for the upcoming year includes several important dates. Students are expected to return to schools on May 8, 2025, while teacher transfers will commence the following day, May 9. The preliminary announcement for candidates eligible for teaching positions is scheduled for May 12, 2025, and interviews for these positions will start on April 30, 2025.
Holidays are also a significant aspect of the academic year. The Eid al-Adha holiday will begin on June 1, 2025, with studies resuming on July 18, 2025. The end-of-year examinations will commence on August 1, 2025, marking the conclusion of the academic year.
