Sanremo 2025 Set To Dazzle With Star-Studded Lineup

Anticipation builds as Carlo Conti returns to host and 29 artists prepare for the iconic music festival

The anticipation is palpable as Italy gears up for the 75th edition of the Festival di Sanremo, set to take place from February 11 to 15, 2025. The festival, known for its rich history and cultural significance, promises to be electrifying with numerous renowned artists, special guests, and the ever-charismatic Carlo Conti at the helm as host.

Carlo Conti’s fourth time hosting solidifies his status among the beloved figures of this iconic event, which attracts millions of viewers each year. According to various reports, his role as both host and artistic director sees him earning approximately €500,000 for the entire festival, reflective of the event's grandiosity and significance.

Each night of the festival will feature unique co-hosts alongside Conti, beginning with acclaimed figures such as Antonella Clerici and Gerry Scotti on the opening night. The lineup of guest performers is notable, featuring big names like Lorenzo Jovanotti and international artists including Noa and Mira Awad, whose rendition of "Imagine" is expected to be poignant.

The structure of the festival remains largely unchanged, spanning five consecutive nights packed with performances, duets, and the crowning of new musical champions. Notably, audiences can expect shorter show durations, with Conti promising to conclude most evenings around 1:10 AM to 1:40 AM, addressing past critiques of lengthy broadcasts.

Wednesday evening will see co-hosts Bianca Balti, Cristiano Malgioglio, and Nino Frassica take the stage, alongside special guests like Damiano David from Måneskin, bringing pop-rock flair to the festival. Each night will also spotlight select performers from the much-anticipated Nuove Proposte segment, allowing fresh talent to shine amid established artists.

The festival lineup includes 29 artists competing with new songs such as Achille Lauro's "Irrational Youth" and Francesca Michielin's "Mud in Paradise." The competition aims to not only entertain but also to showcase Italy's diverse musical talent.

The voting process for Sanremo 2025 has also been refined, combining public televoting with juries from the media and radio. This year, the first evening will see songs evaluated by the Press Room and Web juries, with public voting joining the mix on subsequent nights.

Access to the festival has improved for audiences with disabilities, who will benefit from clear subtitles and sign language interpretation available on Rai Play, truly embodying the festival's goal of inclusivity. This inclusion extends to those watching from home or interacting via social media platforms, where the official hashtag #Sanremo2025 will facilitate engagement.

Over the years, the festival has come to represent not just music but also the glamour and creativity synonymous with Italian culture. Viewers are treated to visually stunning performances alongside musical talent, making style as important as substance.

The fashion will also be under scrutiny, with co-hosts and artists prepared to dazzle viewers. Carlo Conti has hinted at curated outfits for the event, ensuring each night attendees are dressed to impress.

Following the festival, the winner will have the chance to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, set to take place later on, adding another layer of excitement to the proceedings.

All eyes will certainly be on the stage at the Teatro Ariston as the festival kicks off, promising music, passion, and the full spectrum of talent the Sanremo Festival has come to be known for. With competitors vying for attention and accolades, the festival is sure to prove yet again why it holds such an esteemed place within the Italian cultural calendar.
