Sanremo 2025 Festival Begins February 11 With Star-Studded Lineup

The iconic festival will feature 29 artists competing and renowned guests, promising unforgettable nights of music.

The 75th edition of the Sanremo Music Festival is set to captivate audiences from February 11 to February 15, 2025, showcasing the best of Italian music at the legendary Teatro Ariston. The festival, known for its glamorous atmosphere, will be hosted by veteran presenter Carlo Conti, who returns not only as the host but also as the artistic director of this eagerly awaited musical event.

Kicking off on the evening of February 11, the festival will feature 29 competing artists, all vying for the top spot. Each evening's broadcast will start at 8:40 PM, with the final night on February 15 beginning slightly later at 8:45 PM. An added excitement this year is the lineup of esteemed guest performers, including Jovanotti, who is expected to deliver unforgettable acts throughout the event.

On the first night, the stage will feature popular artists, starting with Gaia performing her hit, "Chiamo io chiami tu," and concluding with The Kolors. Other performers include big names like Francesco Gabbani, Rkomi, and Giorgia, creating what promises to be an electrifying lineup. Conti has expressed optimism about managing the festival's timing effectively, pledging to keep each show around 1:20 hours—a notable effort to address the notorious late-night conclusions of previous editions. 'I hope to stay on reasonable time,' Conti shared, aiming to close most nights by 1:20 AM, apart from the finale which may extend until 1:40 AM.

Security appears to be tight this year, with extensive measures put in place to safeguard attendees, including restricted areas around the Teatro Ariston and bans on unauthorized drone flights over Sanremo during the festival. This ensures a festive and secure environment where fans can immerse themselves fully in the music and entertainment.

The festival’s opening night will also feature special guests like Noa and Mira Awad, who will deliver poignant performances, including their rendition of John Lennon’s iconic “Imagine,” symbolizing peace. The planning for this ambitious festival has not shied away from complexity, as it incorporates strategic performances interspersed with viewer voting. On the first evening, voting will occur exclusively via the press jury, creating anticipation for the results as the festival progresses.

Carlo Conti, alongside co-hosts Antonella Clerici and Gerry Scotti, anticipates another successful run of the festival filled with memorable moments and emotional performances. 'The first night, I think we will finish around 1:15,' Conti said during his press briefings, indicating his commitment to adhering to the schedule.

For all music lovers and festival fans, the buildup to Sanremo 2025 has created immense buzz, which is palpable within the city of Sanremo itself. The community atmosphere, combined with the thrill of live performances and the historic significance of the festival, creates a lively scene leading up to the opening night.

With the festival just hours away from starting, excitement is at its peak. Live broadcasts on Rai 1 and RaiPlay will make it possible for fans to enjoy the festival from the comfort of their homes, ensuring the legacy of Sanremo continues to shine brightly as one of the most beloved musical celebrations. Get ready for nights filled with music, drama, and captivating performances!”
