Sanremo 2025 Cover Night Features Exciting Duets

The festival embraces new performances and classic tracks this Valentine’s Day.

Valentine's Day brings the excitement of music and romance to Sanremo 2025 as the iconic festival hosts its fourth evening dedicated entirely to duets and cover performances. On February 14, artists will showcase beloved classics, setting the stage for what promises to be one of the most memorable nights of the festival.

This year marks the first time contestants will perform alongside not only external guests but also their fellow competitors. The night aims to meld nostalgia with contemporary performance styles, allowing both younger and older audiences to reconnect over timeless tracks.

Among the highly anticipated acts, Fedez will take the stage with Marco Masini to perform the classic "Bella stronza." Fedez mentioned, "I have rewritten some verses," referring to his adaptation of the song, intriguing fans with hints of personal sentiments. Chiara Ferragni, Fedez's ex-wife and notable influencer, remarked of the performance, "I don’t think the song is directed at me," leaving some speculation about the song's connection to their past.

The cover night will feature all 29 competing artists, each bringing their unique interpretations to the table. With voting divided equally among the Press Jury, Radio Jury, and public televote, it ensures fair recognition of talent across the performances.

Noteworthy duos include Giorgia and Annalisa, who will deliver their rendition of Adele's "Skyfall," and Simone Cristicchi, pairing with Amara for Franco Battiato’s "La cura." The anticipation is palpable for Cristicchi's performance, as viewers are eager to witness how these artists will breathe new life and emotion through the classic hits.

Among the duets, audiences can also look forward to Tony Effe with Noemi singing "Tutto il resto è noia" by Franco Califano, and Achille Lauro teaming up with Elodie on a medley of Riccardo Cocciante's "A mano a mano" and Loredana Bertè's "Folle città."

This year’s cover night has been clearly structured, ensuring each performance stands on its own merit. Unlike past festivals where the evening influenced the final ranking, this year’s performance will solely celebrate the artists' interpretations, with the winner of the cover night crowned independently.

The event will also feature tributes to major Italian composers, with Bresh accompanied by Cristiano De André for the emotional "Crêuza de mä" honoring his father. Another touching tribute is set to be performed by Massimo Ranieri alongside the Neri per Caso group with "Quando," marking ten years since the loss of the legendary Pino Daniele.

Notably, this edition of the festival has adopted changes intended to streamline presentations and focus on musicality rather than elaborate staging. The first night of the festival already garnered impressive ratings, boasting 12.6 million viewers and 65.3 percent share, setting high hopes for the continued success of following evenings.

Sanremo's cover night merges the memories of Italian music with fresh talent and creativity, uniting families around shared nostalgia amid contemporary performances. With artists carefully selected to balance established favorites and modern hits, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Expectations for the event remain high, driven by the artists' prowess and the rich history of the songs they'll revive, fostering excitement among fans who cherish this cultural celebration of music.

On February 14, tune in to witness the spectacular showcase of duets and memorable songs, and maybe even see how Fedez's performance plays out amid the emotional narratives intertwined within the festival's sprawling history.
