San Diego Mojo Hosts Watch Party For NCAA Championship

Join local fans at Union Kitchen & Tap on December 22 for the finals

San Diego Mojo, the team competing in the Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF), is gearing up to host an exciting watch party for the 2024 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship. The event is set for Sunday, December 22, at Union Kitchen & Tap located at Pacific Beach in San Diego, with the highly anticipated championship match beginning at noon.

Fans attending the watch party will have the chance to participate in various activities organized by the Mojo. This includes the opportunity to win exclusive Mojo prizes through ticket and merchandise giveaways. The event promises to be festive, with food and drink specials available to all Mojo supporters, enhancing the fan experience.

This watch party celebration is all the more significant as it coincides with the championship run of two former Mojo draft picks, Devyn Robinson and Leyla Blackwell, who are competing for their respective college teams. Robinson, the standout opposite/middle blocker currently playing for Wisconsin, was San Diego’s first-round selection during the 2024 PVF Draft. Meanwhile, Blackwell, hailing from San Diego, plays as a middle blocker at Nebraska and was selected during the fourth round, highlighting the local talent represented on national stages.

Both athletes are gearing up for pivotal matches on Friday, December 13, as they strive to secure spots for their teams in the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament. The Badgers, with Robinson, are set to face Texas A&M at 4 p.m., followed closely by Blackwell's Cornhuskers squaring off against Dayton 30 minutes post the previous match. Should both of these squads emerge victorious, they will face each other on Sunday, December 15, vying for the chance to advance to the Final Four.

The Mojo will kick off its home schedule for the 2025 season at Viejas Arena on Thursday, January 16, at 7:05 p.m., with another exciting match against the Orlando Valkyries. Throughout the upcoming season, the Mojo will host 14 home matches at Viejas Arena, alongside 14 away games, fostering community involvement and support for the team.

For volleyball enthusiasts eager to catch these thrilling matchups, live streaming options are readily available for the upcoming matches. Fans can watch the Sweet 16 matchups, including Robinson's and Blackwell's games, on ESPN+ from the comfort of their homes.

The interactive 2024 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Tournament bracket can also be accessed for fans eager to track the progress of their favorite teams during the championship. With the tournament atmosphere heating up, the championship event will be not just about the game but also about coming together as a community to support local athletes making their marks on the national stage.

The watch party at Union Kitchen & Tap is not just another viewing; it’s a chance for players, fans, and the local community to unite and celebrate the spirit of volleyball. With prizes, engaging activities, and camaraderie, it encapsulates the excitement around the sport and its impact on local culture.
