Samsung Electronics has made significant waves at CES 2025 by introducing its new "AI for All" vision, aimed at integrating artificial intelligence across its product range to create smarter, more connected experiences for users.
During the press conference held on January 6, Vice Chairman and CEO Jong-Hee Han opened with bold statements about the company’s commitment to delivering AI technology to the forefront of everyday living. “I’m proud of how we have introduced new technologies and intelligence to the home, connected key devices, and set the standard for the home of the future,” he stated, emphasizing Samsung’s long-standing tradition of human-centric innovation.
Samsung's strategy focuses on the Home AI concept, which aims to cater to diverse lifestyles—ranging from single-person households to larger, multi-generational families. According to Jonathan Gabrio, Head of the Connected Experience Center at Samsung, AI is set to learn from user habits and adapt to their routines, providing hyper-personalized services across connected devices.
Integral to this vision is Samsung's commitment to ensuring security and privacy within smart homes. With the introduction of Samsung Knox Matrix, the company extends its existing security protocols to home appliances, ensuring all connected devices work collaboratively to protect sensitive user data. “Our new privacy dashboard will give users greater control over their information,” Gabrio highlighted.
Samsung also showcased its latest refrigerators unveiled with AI Hybrid Cooling technology. This cutting-edge feature combines traditional compressors with Peltier modules—semiconductors enhancing cooling efficiency. Jeong Seung Moon, EVP and Head of R&D for Digital Appliances at Samsung, stated, “With the global unleashing of AI Hybrid Cooling technology, we are showcasing our commitment to technological innovation.” The refrigerators can predict temperature changes and optimize cooling based on user activity, enhancing food storage longevity by up to 1.4 times.
Other notable products introduced included the Galaxy Book5 Pro series, positioned as AI-powered PCs built to bolster productivity. These devices incorporate features such as AI Select for easier browsing and Samsung Studio for seamless content creation, all powered by Intel® Core™ Ultra Processors.
Shifting focus to entertainment, Samsung revealed advancements powered by its proprietary Samsung Vision AI. The Neo QLED 8K TVs feature groundbreaking AI enhancements like Auto HDR Remastering Pro and Color Booster Pro, adding unprecedented personalization to users' viewing experiences. The company reiterates its commitment to making screens not just visual tools but interactive experiences.
Samsung is also taking its innovations beyond the home with SmartThings Pro, which aims to enable businesses to leverage AI-powered solutions similar to those offered to consumers. This initiative aims to boost energy efficiency and maintenance tracking across various commercial settings, from hotels to schools.
Adding to the excitement at CES is Samsung's focus on sustainability and accessibility. The company is enhancing features to support those with disabilities through automatic syncing of accessibility tools across devices. VP of Corporate Sustainability Center, Inhee Chung, described this commitment as integral to their AI for All vision.
Chung also alluded to initiatives like Samsung Solve for Tomorrow and the partnership with the UNDP to support young innovators globally. Achim Steiner, UNDP Administrator, praised Samsung’s efforts, stating the collaboration has enabled extraordinary young leaders to mobilize their communities.
Looking forward, Samsung’s CES 2025 announcements not only exhibit remarkable technological advancements but also reflect the company’s promise to intertwine its innovations with societal benefits, giving it the edge needed to navigate the future.
With its expansive vision of integrating AI across all dimensions of user life, Samsung aims to not only stay at the forefront of technology but also remain committed to improving the human experience.
