Samsung Rolls Out March Security Update And One UI 7 Beta

The tech giant enhances Galaxy devices with vital security fixes and new features ahead of the stable One UI 7 release.

Samsung is making waves in the tech world with the rollout of its March 2025 security update across various Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S24 series and the latest foldable models. This update, which began on March 25, 2025, addresses 11 critical issues and 40 high-priority items, ensuring that users are protected against potential vulnerabilities.

While the anticipation for the One UI 7 update continues to build, users are currently receiving the March 2025 security patch, which can be downloaded via the Software update page in the Settings. Notably, this patch does not introduce significant new features, adhering to the trend of security updates focusing primarily on fixes rather than enhancements.

Initially, the update was made available to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, followed closely by the Galaxy S24 series. The comprehensive list of devices receiving the update includes the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, S23 FE, S22, S22+, S22 Ultra, S21 FE, and several Galaxy A models.

In tandem with the security update, Samsung has also rolled out the One UI 7 Beta 6 for the Galaxy S24 series on March 26, 2025. This new beta update introduces exciting features such as the Audio Eraser, which allows users to remove unwanted sounds from their videos, and an advanced version of the Drawing Assist feature. This enhancement enables users to create AI-generated images not only from sketches but also through text descriptions or image prompts.

The Audio Eraser is particularly noteworthy as it can eliminate six types of sounds from a video: crowd noise, music, nature sounds, general noise, voices, and wind. This feature, which debuted with the Galaxy S25 series, is now accessible for the Galaxy S24 series users testing the One UI 7 Beta.

Samsung’s One UI 7 Beta 6 update also includes improvements to the user interface, making it more intuitive and user-friendly. The Drawing Assist feature has been overhauled, allowing for greater versatility in creating AI-powered artwork. Users can now interact with the AI in more complex ways, leading to more realistic and creative outputs.

As Samsung gears up for the stable release of One UI 7, set to begin on April 7, 2025, the company is also addressing the concerns surrounding its software distribution strategy. The rollout of One UI 7 has faced delays, with the beta program initially expected to launch in April 2024 but only starting in December 2024. This has raised questions about Samsung's communication and transparency with its user base.

The global rollout of One UI 7 will start with the Galaxy S24 series, Z Flip6, and Z Fold6 models in the Czech Republic on April 10, followed by the Galaxy S24 FE, S23 series, Z Fold5, and Z Flip5 on April 17. Users in North America will have to wait until April 10, while Southeast Asian markets will see the update starting April 14. Samsung aims to ensure that the software gains stability before expanding its availability.

In addition to software updates, Samsung has also launched the Qi2 3-in-1 magnetic wireless charger in South Korea, priced at KRW 119,000 (approximately $81). This charger is designed to work with the Galaxy S25 series, allowing users to charge their flagship phones, Galaxy Watch wearables, Galaxy Buds hearables, and Galaxy Ring simultaneously. While currently available in South Korea, it is expected to reach other global markets soon, including the US.

As the tech giant continues to innovate and enhance its product offerings, users can look forward to a slew of new features and improvements in the coming months. Samsung's commitment to security and user experience remains a top priority, with ongoing updates and enhancements to its software and hardware.

In summary, Samsung is actively pushing out significant updates for its Galaxy devices, focusing on security and user experience. The March 2025 security patch addresses critical vulnerabilities, while the One UI 7 Beta 6 introduces new features that enhance the functionality of the Galaxy S24 series. As the stable release of One UI 7 approaches, users are eager to see how these updates will improve their devices and overall experience.
