Galaxy S24 series to receive the first wave of updates, with older models following suit throughout May

Samsung has confirmed the rollout of its highly anticipated One UI 7, based on Android 15, starting with the Galaxy S24 series on April 18, 2025. This rollout was revealed during a workshop for the Galaxy S25 series coordinated by Samsung Romania, according to reports.

The latest One UI 7 update promises to bring numerous improvements and new features, enhancing the overall user experience. Notably, the Galaxy S24 and S24 FE will be among the first to receive the update, followed closely by the Galaxy S23 series on April 25. Reports indicate older models, including the Galaxy S22 and S21 series, will receive their updates by May 23.

Specifically, according to the leaked rollout schedule, here’s how the One UI 7 release plan looks:

  • Galaxy S24 Series and S24 FE - April 18
  • Galaxy S23 Series - April 25
  • Galaxy S23 FE and S22 Series - May 16
  • Galaxy S21 Series - May 23

For the foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 will also see their updates on April 18, alongside the S24 series. The older Z Fold and Flip models are set to receive their updates shortly afterward, with specific timelines as follows:

  • Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5 - April 25
  • Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 - May 16
  • Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 - May 23

Samsung's A-series mid-range devices are also getting some love, as the Galaxy A54 is expected to receive its update on April 25, followed by the A34, A53, and A33 on May 16.

This leaked update schedule has generated considerable excitement among Galaxy users who have been eagerly awaiting the new features promised by One UI 7. Some of the noteworthy enhancements include the implementation of the Now Bar, battery charging limits, rounded UI elements, and advanced writing tools.

Samsung has been somewhat tight-lipped about the official rollout timeline, leaving many to speculate about the validity of the leaked information. While leaks have suggested the October timeframe originally, April-May 2025 appears to be the new target for most compatible devices.

While some users may rejoice at the new features, others are expressing frustration over the delay compared to previous updates. Samsung typically rolled out updates quicker, but challenges associated with the new software have led to concerns about the pace of the rollout.

Particular attention is focused on the AI capabilities integrated within One UI 7. This new version is said to leverage AI for various features, which has added to the complexity of the update process. Samsung executives hinted at possible delays due to the need for improved infrastructure support to handle the new capabilities.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding the update timeline, Samsung is committed to delivering significant enhancements across its devices, assuring users they aim to provide the best user experience possible with One UI 7.

Until the official confirmations come through, users are encouraged to maintain patience and stay tuned for updates. For those who have enrolled in current beta testing, there are expectations of additional beta versions being released before the final stable rollout.

With the promise of enhanced features, smoother interactions, and the overall user experience upgrade, the anticipation for the One UI 7 rollout continues to grow among users.
