Samsung Launches New Galaxy A Series Smartphones With AI Features

The Galaxy A56, A36, and A26 offer advanced AI tools and improved durability for mid-range users.

Samsung has officially unveiled its latest mid-range smartphone lineup—the Galaxy A56 5G, Galaxy A36 5G, and Galaxy A26 5G—promising consumers enhanced features powered by AI, improved durability, and long-term software support.

The launch took place just before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, marking another milestone for the company as it continues to strengthen its presence in the competitive smartphone market. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience (MX) Business at Samsung Electronics, noted, "The new Galaxy A series marks an important step in our mission of AI for all, by opening Galaxy’s incredible mobile AI experiences to even more people around the world."

All three new models feature Samsung's innovative Awesome Intelligence suite, powered by One UI 7, which introduces several advanced AI tools to assist users, particularly content creators. Features like Circle to Search—a Google-powered AI tool—allow users to perform instant searches on any visible data on their screens. Enhanced capabilities enable this function to quickly recognize phone numbers, email addresses, and URLs, providing quick access to relevant actions with just one tap. This functionality enhances efficiency for users, making daily tasks more manageable.

The camera systems on the new A-series offer significant improvements, focusing on versatility and creativity. The Galaxy A56 is equipped with the "Best Face" feature, which automatically selects the best expressions from different photos to create ideal group shots—perfect for family gatherings or events. Each model includes AI-driven photography advancements like Nightography for improved low-light selfies and Object Eraser to eliminate unwanted objects from photos.

All three models are built with durability and style, sporting 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED displays with up to 1200 nits of brightness, ensuring vibrant visuals both indoors and out. The devices are protected by Corning® Gorilla® Glass and have achieved IP67 ratings for water and dust resistance, making them resilient to daily elements. This is particularly valuable for those who lead active lifestyles or work outdoors.

Powering the devices, the A56 utilizes the Exynos 1580 chipset, enhancing multitasking and efficiency, particularly for gaming and media consumption, whereas the A36 runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. For those seeking reliable day-to-day usage, the A26 has been crafted as their entry-level option. All models house large 5,000 mAh batteries, with the A56 and A36 boasting Super Fast Charging capabilities at 45W, allowing users to recharge quickly and keep up with demanding usage.

Samsung is committed to providing its users with long-term software support. The Galaxy A series models come with promises of receiving six generations of Android OS and One UI updates alongside six years of security patches. This assurance stands out as it establishes Samsung as a leader not only in hardware but also software longevity.

The models are priced competitively to cater to various consumer needs: the Galaxy A56 starts at $499.99, the A36 at $399.99, and the A26 at $299.99. According to Samsung's announcements, the pricing structure aims to deliver premium-like features to the mid-range market segment.

These features position the Galaxy A series as strong contenders among budget-friendly smartphones, allowing consumers to access advanced technology without the premium price tag typically associated with flagship devices. The blend of AI-powered tools, durability, and long-lasting software support makes the new Galaxy A series lineups incredibly appealing.

With the global launch set for March 2, 2025, Samsung continues to reimagine what mid-range smartphones can achieve, ensuring users have access not only to powerful performance but also innovative tools to express their creativity.
