Samsung Launches Galaxy AI Contest To Promote Vietnamese Tourism

The initiative celebrates Vietnam's cultural heritage and encourages creative storytelling through technology.

On April 18, 2025, in Hanoi, the Tourism Information Center of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism announced a strategic partnership with Samsung Vietnam Electronics Company to launch the "Galaxy AI Understands Vietnamese" contest, aimed at promoting Vietnamese tourism. The contest, which runs from April 18 to May 18, 2025, is open to all Vietnamese citizens residing in the country.

This initiative is inspired by significant anniversaries: the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification on April 30, 2025, and the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnamese tourism industry on July 9, 2025. The total prize pool for the contest amounts to 300 million VND, aimed at encouraging participation from content creators, travel bloggers, and the youth.

Samsung's Galaxy AI is not just a technological feature; it signifies Vietnam's growing presence in the global artificial intelligence landscape. As one of the first 13 languages integrated into the AI platform, Vietnamese is set to enhance the user experience on the Galaxy S25 Series, allowing for a more personalized interaction with technology.

"We believe that Galaxy AI will serve as a bridge connecting the past, present, and future, helping the younger generation explore and share the beauty of the country through a completely new lens," said Le Xuan Truong, Marketing and Communications Director at Samsung Vietnam.

The competition is designed to inspire citizens to share their travel stories, using the creative capabilities of Galaxy AI. With its ability to generate content from Vietnamese speech, summarize ideas, and provide real-time translation, the AI tool is expected to empower creators to turn their travel experiences into unique narratives.

Nguyen Duc Xuyen, Deputy Director of the Tourism Information Center, emphasized the importance of this contest not only in promoting tourism but also in fostering national pride and love for the homeland. "This is an opportunity for young people to express their love for Vietnam, elevating the Vietnamese spirit through Vietnamese technology and AI developed by Vietnamese people," he stated.

The contest comes at a time when Vietnam's tourism sector is experiencing a robust recovery. In 2024, the country recorded a 98% recovery rate in international visitors compared to 2019, the highest in Southeast Asia, and in the first quarter of 2025, Vietnam welcomed over 6 million international tourists, marking a new record.

"The achievements in tourism recovery post-pandemic are largely attributed to enhanced digital transformation and the application of technology in promoting and improving the tourist experience," said Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism.

As part of the long-term strategy to develop a smart and sustainable tourism ecosystem, the Galaxy AI contest aims to create a platform for innovative storytelling that showcases Vietnam's cultural heritage and natural beauty. Participants are encouraged to explore destinations like Mu Cang Chai during the rice harvest, the serene ancient town of Hoi An, and the picturesque landscapes of Ha Giang and Can Tho.

"This contest is not just a one-month event; it opens a new chapter for smart tourism in Vietnam, where Vietnamese AI, tourism, and culture are interconnected and can thrive together," said Xuyen. The collaboration between Samsung and the Tourism Information Center demonstrates a commitment to leveraging modern technology to elevate Vietnam's tourism sector.

Samsung's investment in developing Galaxy AI, tailored to the needs of Vietnamese users, reflects the company's recognition of Vietnam as a strategic market and a potential leader in AI development. The initiative is part of a broader aim to create a meaningful platform that honors Vietnamese tourism through the lens of technology.

As the contest kicks off, content creators, travel bloggers, designers, and filmmakers are invited to begin their journey with the Galaxy S25 Series and Galaxy AI, to tell a different, vibrant, and engaging story of Vietnam. Further details about the contest rules, prizes, and participation methods will be continuously updated on the official websites of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism and Samsung Vietnam.

"Write the dream of Vietnam in the language of technology. Are you ready?" This call to action encapsulates the spirit of the competition, encouraging a collective effort to showcase the beauty and culture of Vietnam through innovative storytelling.
