Salman Khan's Sikandar Set To Hit Theaters March 30

Director AR Murugadoss promises an action-packed film rich in emotional depth.

As the release date of Sikandar approaches, excitement is building among fans. The film, directed by AR Murugadoss and starring superstar Salman Khan, is set to hit cinemas on March 30, 2025. The director has shared some interesting details about the movie, promising a mix of action and emotions that will leave a lasting impact on the audience.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, AR Murugadoss discussed Salman Khan’s powerful entry, stating, “His introduction will be special for this film. His introduction scene will be one of the highlights.” He explained that when writing the script, they consider the hero’s fanbase, ensuring that the introduction scene reflects their stardom. “Hero introduction and a sequence towards the interval are nice. We have a very heart-melting scene in the second half and then, of course, the climax. So we have a lot of high points,” Murugadoss added.

Aside from action, Sikandar will delve into family dynamics, much like Murugadoss’ previous film, Ghajini. In an interview with ETimes, he noted that the film is more than just a mass entertainer and will strongly explore the husband-wife relationship. “This is not only a mass film; it has very strong family emotions. It explores how families function today and what we might be missing in our relationships,” he explained.

The film, which is also eagerly anticipated due to its star-studded cast, features Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Anjini Dhawan, and Jatin Sarna. Sathyaraj and Prateik Babbar take on the roles of antagonists, adding intensity to the film’s storyline.

Director AR Murugadoss shared a personal anecdote about Salman Khan during script narration, recalling, “Within 30 minutes of the narration, he walked away a bit, smoked, and then asked, ‘Do you know how I work?’ I said, ‘No.’ He replied, ‘I work from 2 pm to 2 am, and are you okay with it?’ I was like, 'this means he liked the script'.” This interaction highlighted the superstar's commitment to his work.

Murugadoss elaborated on the challenges of working with superstars. “When you are working with superstars, you cannot be 100 percent true to the script. We have to satisfy the fans and think about them. It is difficult to be in that zone,” he explained.

Originally, a massive trailer launch event was planned featuring 30,000 fans, but this has been replaced by digital promotions over security concerns. However, fans will still have a plethora of content to enjoy, as some songs from the movie’s music album have already been released.

The first teaser for Sikandar was unveiled last year. This 1-minute-41-second video showcased Salman entering a room filled with weapons and samurai-attired individuals, reinforcing the film's action-packed premise. “Suna hain ki bohot saare log mere peeche pade hain. Bas, meri mudne ki der hain. (I've heard a lot of people have it out for me. Just wait for me to turn),” the teaser ominously stated.

In another exciting development, the film's marketing campaign, which includes the much-anticipated trailer launch, is scheduled for March 23, 2025. Murugadoss recently revealed that the trailer's final cut is completed, assisting in building the film's visibility as its release date approaches.

Moreover, Sikandar has received a UA 13+ certificate from the CBFC, ensuring it will be accessible to a broad audience. The theatrical runtime has also been locked at approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes, comprising the first half of around 1 hour and 15 minutes, followed by a second half of about 1 hour and 5 minutes.

Under Murugadoss’s direction and Nadiadwala’s production, action fans can expect a comprehensive entertainer designed for the big screen, integrating romance, politics, drama, and revenge, alongside the thrilling action sequences.

As Salman Khan's imminent release of Sikandar nears, fans and critics alike await what’s set to be another major success for Bollywood’s Bhaijaan. With his charisma and Murugadoss’s narrative promise, Sikandar aims to be a pioneering film in 2025, not just in terms of box-office returns but also in delivering a memorable story about family and heroism.
