Russian Forces Launch 165 Attacks In One Day Amidst Ongoing Clashes

Ukrainian defenders repel numerous assaults as airstrikes and drone attacks intensify along multiple fronts.

In the latest war update, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that a staggering 165 combat clashes unfolded over the past 24 hours along the front lines, as Russian forces unleashed relentless assaults in various sectors, particularly around Pokrovsk and Lyman.

On March 24, 2025, the intensity of Russian aggression was evident as they executed a series of airstrikes and assaults. Specifically, Russian forces launched 76 airstrikes on Ukrainian positions, releasing 101 guided aerial bombs during these attacks. Alongside this, they conducted a staggering 6,261 shelling attacks, which included 142 strikes from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). To further intensify their offensive, they deployed an alarming 2,640 kamikaze drones, with their targets spanning across multiple regions.

Settlement areas that faced significant bombardment included Velykyi Prykil, Myropilske, Prokhody, Petrushivka, Turia, Uhroidy, and Krasnopillia in the Sumy region. The Kharkiv region reported strikes on Svitlychne and Slatyne, while the Donetsk region was not spared, with Pokrovsk being heavily targeted. The Zaporizhia region also saw devastation, with towns such as Novodarivka, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Bilohitia, and Orikhiv taking the brunt of the assaults.

In response to Russian efforts, Ukrainian defenders remained steadfast. On the Kharkiv front, Russian troops made three attempts to breach Ukrainian lines toward Vovchansk. However, these efforts were thwarted by Ukrainian forces, particularly near the settlements of Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Zahryzove, where six assault actions were repelled.

The situation was no different on the Lyman front, where Russian forces, undeterred, carried out 24 attacks aimed at penetrating defenses near Kolodiazi, Yampolivka, and other strategic locations such as Stepove, Novomykhailivka, Nove, and Zarichne. The Siversk front was also active, with Ukrainian troops successfully repelling six offensive actions near Bilohorivka and in the direction of Verkhniokamianske.

Combat engagements also unfolded in the Kramatorsk region, where Ukrainian forces encountered five combat engagements on March 24 near the town of Chasiv Yar and toward Dyliivka. Similarly, the Toretsk front saw 19 attacks by Russian forces near the city of Toretsk and surrounding areas, including Dyliivka, Dachne, and Krymske.

Particularly on the Pokrovsk front, Ukrainian troops stood their ground against a staggering 53 Russian assaults. These assaults took place around Panteleimonivka, Oleksandropil, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Andriivka, and towards Pokrovsk, Kotliarivka, Bohdanivka, and Oleksiivka.

In the Novopavlivka sector, Russian troops launched 19 attacks on the village of Kostiantynopil, as well as towards Rozlyv and Vesele. In the Huliaipole front, Ukrainian troops reported halting three Russian attempts to advance near the settlements of Novopil and in the direction of Vilne Pole. Meanwhile, in the Orikhiv sector, adversaries made two unsuccessful attempts to break through towards Lobkove.

Interestingly, the Dnipro River sector saw no combat clashes over the past day. In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of any Russian offensive group formations were detected, indicating an unusual calm in those regions.

Despite the intense assaults from Russian forces, Ukraine's Defense Forces continued to mount operations, with reports indicating that they engaged in various actions within Russia's Kursk region. Over the same day, the enemy also initiated 16 airstrikes, dropping 20 guided aerial bombs, along with 302 shelling attacks, seven of which involved MLRS.

The resilience of Ukrainian forces was highlighted by their successful engagements, as they halted 18 Russian assaults while targeting 15 areas of Russian military concentration, weaponry, and equipment during their operations. Reports also indicated the destruction of an enemy artillery system and a command post.

As the conflict intensifies, the situation reflects an ongoing struggle, characterized by fierce clashes along the front lines, with Ukrainian forces maintaining determined resistance against overwhelming odds.
