Russia Announces School Holiday Schedule For 2025-2026

Students will enjoy structured holiday breaks across the academic year, including special winter days for younger grades.

The Ministry of Education of Russia has released the school holiday schedule for the academic year 2025-2026, offering clarity and enthusiasm among students and parents alike. With specific dates confirmed, this announcement enables families to plan vacations and activities around these breaks.

This year, autumn holidays will stretch over eight days, from November 2 to November 9, 2025, inclusive. This period coincides with the Day of National Unity, providing opportunities for families to travel and enjoy outdoor activities together.

Winter holidays are set to last 14 days, beginning on December 25, 2025, and concluding on January 7, 2026. These festive weeks are often filled with traditional winter sports and celebrations, allowing children to recharge before returning to their studies for the second half of the academic year.

Spring breaks will also follow the pattern of eight days off, scheduled for March 22 to March 29, 2026. This time provides the perfect chance for families to enjoy the arrival of spring, explore nature, and rejuvenate before the busy end of the school year.

For most students, the summer holidays will extend over 92 days, starting from June 1 until August 31, 2026. Students completing grade 9, though, will have slightly shorter time off, with their break lasting 82 days, beginning from June 11 until August 31.

Notably, first and second graders will benefit from additional winter holidays during the third quarter. These extra days off will run from February 16 to February 22, 2026, emphasizing the need to accommodate the unique challenges young to adapt to the rigors of school.

With this detailed calendar, the Ministry aims to facilitate planning for families and students, ensuring balance between study and relaxation. Parents are encouraged to take advantage of the structured holiday periods to create memorable experiences and maintain their children’s zest for learning.

Overall, the provided schedule is not just for academic organization but serves as part of nurturing children's growth and reinforcing family bonds through shared experiences during school breaks.
