Rivo Subasio C5 has faced another setback, losing 3-4 against Todi Calcio during the 15th round of the Serie C2 girone A championship. The game, which took place on Saturday afternoon at the PalaRivo, saw the home team falter once again, marking their second defeat out of the last three matches. Despite the loss, Rivo Subasio clings to the top of the standings with 37 points, but the result has brought Todi Calcio closer, now just three points behind.
The match concluded dramatically as Rivo Subasio struggled to maintain their lead, allowing Todi Calcio the opportunity to capitalize on their chances. The dedicated crowd present at the Rivotorto venue provided steadfast support, cheering for their team until the final whistle.
Looking forward, head coach De Nigris will lead his team back onto the pitch this Friday against Academy Sport Foligno, hoping to rebound from this tough loss. The match is set to take place at 20:30 in Foligno, where Rivo Subasio aims to secure victory and lift their spirits after this challenging phase.
Meanwhile, significant news emerged from Todi unrelated to sports, as police arrested a 42-year-old Albanian construction entrepreneur following the execution of a European arrest warrant sought by Greek judicial authorities. This arrest occurred on Saturday afternoon at about 16:00.
The Greek courts have implicated him in serious offenses, including illegal trafficking of arms, ammunition, and explosives, as well as organized theft and participation in criminal organizations. These crimes reportedly took place across several regions of Greece between December 2019 and March 2020.
Legal representatives for the accused, led by attorney Marco Gentili, have contested the allegations, asserting the entrepreneur had only briefly traveled to Greece for leisure during the time of the reported offenses. Gentili also claimed the charges against his client were unfounded, stating, "we are facing a violation of due process" due to the entrepreneur being hospitalized at the Silvestrini Hospital in Perugia for cervical fractures during the incidents.
The incarcerated man's status was evaluated by Judge Augusto Fornaci of the Court of Appeal of Perugia, who ordered him to serve his house arrest equipped with an electronic bracelet and restricted external communication. A follow-up court hearing is scheduled for March 5, where he will contest the extradition request from Greece.
